(Unaccredited) Queens College of Theology Masters in Christian Counseling, $50 a mo. - Bingbong - 01-06-2025
Hello All,
Happy New Year.
For anyone interested, Queens College of Theology is now offering a masters degree in Christian Counseling(counseling in ministry). The cost is $50 a month with no other fees. The course can take 12-24 months to complete, however, only 30 students are being admitted each term.
I would’ve been interested in this, but I already started a PHD in Christian Counseling elsewhere. Still not bad for the price.

The school is completely unaccredited.
I'm not seeing realistic work towards accreditation (as have, for example, Christian Leaders Institute and Saylor Academy).
They do not appear to have any faculty member with an accredited doctorate. Every one holds one or two unaccredited doctorates or candidacies for unaccredited doctorates.

This. I’m currently enrolled in their PhD in Biblical Studies. I’m enjoying the content. It’s a well thought out program in my opinion. This one appears to be well thought out too.
I’ve noticed an upsurge in Christian counselors lately.

Depends on where you are I guess. In my state you have to be licensed to call yourself a counselor and charge clients.

From my understanding, Christian counselors technically don’t need any official qualifications to counsel within ministry. That can probably differ from state to state though.

There are many respectable and reasonably priced online programs in Christian counseling, including at Liberty (with the seminary tuition cap) and Amberton.

I don't disagree. However, as I mentioned earlier, Christian counselors don't really need qualifications, much less qualifications that are obtained from an "accredited" school to perform pastoral counseling in ministry. If need be, there are programs that are "accredited" by accreditation boards that are within ministry.
I reviews the curriculum of those schools you mentioned and compared them to my current program, and the program at QOT and I see no major differences. The to major factors to consider here are ;
1- Can I perform the same duties with an unaccredited degree?
2- Which degree costs the least?

It's costly to have a questionable or bad reputation attach to your name. Potential clients, potential church and para-church partners, and others in the community are liable to be skeptical of these credentials.
I added "(Unaccredited)" to the thread title. This is so categorically different from almost all the schools we discuss that it's important to signal that prominently.
