Thank you so much! I tried working on this and putting things in my excel sheet but a few of the gen Ed's I couldn't quite figure out. Also, the link said it didn't have any content in it - just so you know. RE: UMPI Psychology - bjcheung77 - 03-11-2025 Interesting... I tried the two links from post #2 a few hours ago, and just tried now, they work fine. They're links to the WIKI, it may be your browser. In any case, you should really apply to UMPI BA Psych and see what transfers over and what is remaining, then complete the 30 credits for residency. If you know, about how long turnaround is it nowadays? RE: UMPI Psychology - bjcheung77 - 03-11-2025 Applications take at least 2-3 weeks. Go for the Summer 1 - App deadline 04/11/25 (to be on the safe side, you need to make sure you're accepted and you finalize everything two weeks ahead of their recommended dates, so you don't fall through the cracks like a few members have). The Session starts 05/12/25 and ends 07/03/25, I always recommend to max the transfer of your credits, 90+ credits and only take the minimum 30 residency credits required at UMPI. Link: https://www.umpi.edu/yourpace/academic_programs/psychology/I am actually planning for summer 2! I have a weeklong vacation in June and a week is precious time in the process! If I go according to the above plan, I'm hoping I'll be okay! I only want to have 10 courses left max, and take others toward the MAOL if I have the time! I hate to miss a session but I don't want to pay for another session for my BA, but will have more for a masters. RE: UMPI Psychology - Erikabol - 04-27-2025 Can you all help me out with a couple questions? I got admitted to UMPI for summer 2, where can I find my evaluation? I can't remember, but I'm assuming I chose my major when I applied, so I don't have to do anything extra there right? Does anyone know a good resource to help me "prep?" I'm wondering what the courses are like. I know it's more writing than WGU, but is it like a bunch of short essays and a lot of research? What are the common methods for accelerating? For example, I saw a lot of people with WGU take the practice test, study the things they failed on, and then take the final. Of course UMPI would be a different ballgame I'd assume? UMPI is all paper based, if you don't want to write don't do UMPI RE: UMPI Psychology - LevelUP - 04-28-2025 (04-27-2025, 04:29 PM)Erikabol Wrote: Can you all help me out with a couple questions? The problem with WGU is that they do not accept older credits (over 5 years) for anything outside of general education, and they do not offer electives, making them a poor choice for transfer students. UMPI is probably the best option for your situation. Regarding writing papers, all of the colleges we recommend require them; it is just a matter of how many papers you are willing to complete. With TESU, you can narrow it down to two courses, significantly limiting the number of papers. At UMPI, it is typically one graded paper per course, meaning around 10 papers in total. At SNHU, for example, you might have to write about seven papers per course. Over 10 courses, that could add up to 70 or more papers. PUG is similar. |
