You must complete all the required quizzes with a score of 80% or higher on each one to complete the course and access the proctored final exam. https://support.study.com/support/solutions/articles/11000025435-how-do-quizzes-factor-into-my-grade-for-credit-recommended-courses- These are quizzes at the end of each lesson. Considering nearly all of the time they give you the answer after the 1st attempt, you should be able to score 95% or higher average on the quizzes. RE: Study.com Lesson Quizzes & Chapter Quizzes - bjcheung77 - 04-13-2025 Study AI: Study.com quizzes It looks like you've made great progress on your quizzes across multiple courses on Study.com! If you need help with specific quizzes, preparing for upcoming ones, or strategies to improve your performance, feel free to ask. Let me know which course or subject you'd like assistance with! Study AI: Are quizzes optional? On Study.com, quizzes are typically not optional if you are pursuing course completion or earning credit. They are an integral part of the learning process and are used to assess your understanding of the material covered in the lessons. Passing the quizzes is often required to demonstrate mastery of the course content and to receive a certificate of completion or transfer credits. However, if you're using Study.com for personal enrichment or self-paced learning, you can choose to skip quizzes and focus on the lessons instead. It ultimately depends on your goals. If you're planning to transfer credits or earn a degree, completing the quizzes is essential. Let me know if you’d like tips on preparing for quizzes or if you have any specific questions about your progress! RE: Study.com Lesson Quizzes & Chapter Quizzes - Jonathan Whatley - 04-14-2025 Study.com lesson quizzes are typically required, whereas end-of-chapter practice tests are completely optional. But note that SDC uses an adaptive learning system which as you progress through a course, will mark some lesson quizzes as optional. Some lesson quizzes will be marked as optional once you’ve taken a related lesson quiz for a different lesson. For example, a course on U.S. history might have one lesson on Manifest Destiny and another lesson on Westward Expansion. Although both lessons quizzes are technically required, you may find that after completing one of the two, the other one is automatically marked as “Optional.” Additionally, lesson quizzes may also be marked as optional once you’ve demonstrated competency in a concept in an optional placement test for that course or a related course. If you take a placement test for that U.S. history course — or possibly for a different U.S. history course also on SDC — and you’re served a single question about territorial expansion, success in that question may mark both of those lessons as “Optional.” When a lesson quiz has been marked of as optional for you, you may still be get questions on your final exam for the course covered only in material in that lesson. RE: Study.com Lesson Quizzes & Chapter Quizzes - SarSar79 - 04-14-2025 How come the "Grade Breakdown" says CHAPTER TESTS? Do I have to take the quizzes at the end of the lesson? (see attachment) RE: Study.com Lesson Quizzes & Chapter Quizzes - Jonathan Whatley - 04-14-2025 (04-14-2025, 02:01 PM)SarSar79 Wrote: How come the "Grade Breakdown" says CHAPTER TESTS? Do I have to take the quizzes at the end of the lesson? (see attachment) That looks very unlike the course progress bars in any SDC course I've taken, and I've completed dozens. Additionally, that lesson about arithmetic averages appears to be used mostly in high school courses; I checked a few likely college-level courses and it's not there. Is it possible that you're started a Study.com course that is not a direct college credit course? If it's a direct college credit course – the type we're almost always referring to when we discuss SDC courses here – it will have a title with a general subject, three-digit number, and specific title such as Statistics 101: Principles of Statistics. Is your Study.com membership at the College Saver level, or at the Premium level if you're just completing lesson quizzes now with plans to upgrade to College Saver to complete the final exams in a future month? I don't know how they show course progress for memberships at the Test Prep, Classroom, or Homeschool membership levels. Those membership levels are not designed for completing direct college credit courses as far as I know. RE: Study.com Lesson Quizzes & Chapter Quizzes - SarSar79 - 04-14-2025 The course is: Business 120: International Business. My plan is COLLEGE SAVER. RE: Study.com Lesson Quizzes & Chapter Quizzes - Jonathan Whatley - 04-14-2025 (04-14-2025, 03:16 PM)SarSar79 Wrote: The course is: Business 120: International Business. My plan is COLLEGE SAVER. You need to contact Study.com technical support. It really looks like their server is serving you a non-college-credit course. Your Course Progress bar should have a heading like Quote:You have completed 1% of the quizzes! and then on the bar itself there should be text like Quote:1 of 111 quizzes passed The International Business course appears to have about 111 lesson quizzes, as of when I completed it. Your progress for a college credit course should be measured in lesson quizzes, not in chapter tests. RE: Study.com Lesson Quizzes & Chapter Quizzes - SarSar79 - 04-14-2025 I have contacted Study.com support and they reply with a generic email that does not answer my questions. Maybe I will just have to do the chapter tests and then see if it will allow me to take the final exam. RE: Study.com Lesson Quizzes & Chapter Quizzes - Jonathan Whatley - 04-14-2025 When you view the syllabus for the course, it should state that your grade will be based on quizzes and a final exam, which are required. Chapter tests are optional practice tests. I almost never took a chapter test, but completed courses just fine. It's disappointing that the technical support representative didn't resolve this problem. |
