Cheap PsyD or PhD in Psychology, online - Yana - 05-01-2025 Hello, I’m looking for a PsyD or PhD in psychology (preferably clinical) that is online and is affordable. Must be accredited (if in US it should be regionally accredited). Due to my nationality it’ll be hard to do programs that require me to visit campus in US and most of Europe (due to visa issues) so prefer an online program. Will consider non US programs as well, as long as it’s a legit degree (and is in English). The cheapest I was able to find on my own is California Southern University. I know that there are some affordable universities in Asia, but I’m overwhelmed with the search. I have read that there are fully funded doctorate programs in Europe but I wasn’t able to find anything that is online. Looking forward to any info. TIA. RE: Cheap PsyD or PhD in Psychology, online - newdegree - 05-01-2025 It is very rare to find a PsyD or PhD in Psychology, especially one in a clinical track, which requires in-person clinical hours. You should search for this type of degree in your country if you have visa issues getting to the United States or Europe. I forgot to mention that I’m not looking for a program that will lead to licensure as I can practice with a masters. I do want to teach in higher education and it is close to impossible without a PhD. The reason I would prefer a clinical specialization is because my masters is in clinical psychology so it’s only logical to me to continue on the path. Is the PhD more respected in your country than other professional doctorates like the DPC or PsyD? Also, are religious institutions versus secular schools or for-profit schools an issue? Even for license to practice either PhD or PsyD is ok, as well as just a masters (but with masters level there’s a longer experience required). Most people who get licensed get licensed with their masters degrees. When it comes to teaching at a higher education institution, most require PhD/PsyD and only a few will accept masters for teaching entry level courses. At this point my main criteria is affordability and the program should be online, or somewhere outside of Schengen countries or US/Canada if it has residency component as I may face visa issues. I am not sure about religious/secular but I don’t suppose we have any of the sorts. I live in UAE and there’s lots of tolerance towards everyone and I don’t think a religious school would be an issue, same for profit/non profit. But being a Muslim I’d prefer to do a secular program or a program not heavily rooted in religion. But I’m looking for affordable options, and am open to non US universities as well. I am just overwhelmed with the amount of information.
