RE: ENEB New Master Thread - PearsonOTHMQualifi7654 - 09-22-2025 Thanks, yes Italy's Livello I is very much like Spain's Propio after all. In Europe and abroad, however, a Livello I seems just a tad better than a Titulo Propio because:
Both Livello I or II, seem only marginally better than the propio becaue neither look to be a guaranteed way for further study. Livello II is only slightly better than a Livello I, because to gain entry to a Livello II, it requires a Laurea Magistrale or other level 7 quallifications. I like this opportunity regardless, as I am working on a UK MBA and I won't need to rely on Livello I or II to gain entry to another level. Level I is something I would do simply for the extra learning My business studies will be concluded after this as I transition to healthcare. RE: ENEB New Master Thread - cacoleman1983 - 09-22-2025 The Unimarconi Master program offered in collaboration with ENEB seems to be a worthwhile endeavor. As always, I will wait to start the program after seeing the results of evaluations from people who complete the program. The ENEB degree looks to be treated as a Masters Livello I in transfer and completing the rest of the program at Unimarconi is a Masters Livello 2. Foreign credential evaluators will view these differently. However, it looks like it will be a minimum Masters degree equivalency from more conservative evaluators while the more progressive evaluators will give it something above a Masters equivalency like a post-graduate certificate, post-Masters certificate, or a Masters that requires a Masters. Thus, you would be getting more than just a validated Masters overall. So far, we have a confirmed email from ENEB that states these will be Livello I, and also confirmed on a phone call with ENEB. Neither is telling me anything definitively Also as you hold an MEd, a level 7 and a Bacherlor's degree, a Level 6. It would be on the basis of those, that you'd be admitted to a Livello II alone, not based on a propio. One small clarification, a "Postgraduate" is not like a post doctorate... A Postgraduate is not above a Master's degree. In the UK a "graduate" refers to students who earn a university diploma or certificate at the undergraduate level. A Postgraduate in the UK is equivalent to the Graduate School level in the US. I know it can be confusing, but the Brits like to call things a little differently. UK: Graduate (Undergrad Cert/Diploma) Postgraduate (Master's Level/Cert/Diploma) Hopefully we hear back soon. I am very tempted to take the offer. If it's Livello II then even better RE: ENEB New Master Thread - slammX - 09-22-2025 (09-22-2025, 09:27 AM)PearsonOTHMQualifi7654 Wrote:This is really interesting to learn. We don't have post-doctorates in our national qualifications framework. That is an applied research position after doctoral studies, but its not a qualification itself. A PGDip is a notch below a Master's degree. I think South Africa is very much the same as the UK. Postgraduate is not a term in the US, but literally to an American it can sound like something one earns after a Master's degree, but it's not. In the US it would simply be called a graduate school certificate. Also Diploma is not used in the US much at all after High School. In the UK Diplomas are a notch above Certs. Technically speaking, a Master's Degree in the US is a Master's Diploma, but it refers to the piece of paper, not the actual award (degree) itself. Little confusing at times but fun nonetheless. RE: ENEB New Master Thread - Maltus - 09-22-2025 Well, sounds like this to me: The UniMaccaroni Master is another title/grade if you want to put that up your wall. You might get some credits thru evaluation, but can't use that italian paper to enter a PhD. For me that would be not worth the money or the time. I guess it differs, what you are looking for, if it is a good deal. Want another fancy diploma? Go for it. Want academic progression? Meh. But EQF lists the Livello II at Level 8, which doesn't quite make sense, however you get the picture that a Livello 2 is widely recognized as being more advanced, thus for NACES evaluations, might be helpful. https://www.cimea.it/pagina-qualifiche-del-sistema-universitario#:~:text=c)%20I%20corsi%20di%20Master,con%20un%20titolo%20estero%20comparabile. Anyways, I think I want this Livello I because it's a step above the Propio. I also like the school (Unimarconi) as Italy's first open university (Digital) Will be deciding on it in the coming days. RE: ENEB New Master Thread - cacoleman1983 - 09-22-2025 Rather or not this ends up being worthwhile will depend on if these Unimarconi Master programs are a Master Levillo I or Master Levillo 2. A Master Levillo I is a US graduate certificate equivalent just like the ENEB Master with the only difference being that it would be better received with a higher probability of transfer credit due to accreditation standards. Generally, a thesis is required at Master Levillo 2 instead of Master Levillo 1. ENEB is trying to validate with as many university partners as possible for better recognition in terms of accreditation but the needle in the degree level is not changing as these are still university specific Master titles that will only get 1-year graduate study or graduate certificate equivalency but not a full Masters equivalency unless it is a non-NACES or non-AICE evaluator. Now, if it possible to obtain the Levillo 2 with the ENEB partnership then that would be a game changer. |
