Need help with the UMPI changes - VBStan4 - 05-06-2025 Your Location: Netherlands Your Age: 20 What kind of degree do you want?: CS or IT related Current Regional Accredited Credits: 0 Current ACE, CLEP, or NCCRS Credits: No. I'll take them once I build a degree plan. Any certifications or military experience? No Budget: I'd like to go the cheapest route possible. Commitments: I work with my dad part-time, but I can study full-time. Timeline: Finishing the courses required for the degree as fast as possible would be ideal. Tuition assistance/reimbursement: No. All costs would be paid by me. My initial desire was to pursue a CS degree, but I liked the UMPI BABA PM+IS degree and thought of doing it. But I heard there are some changes to it. So I've a few questions: 1. What changes should I consider in the BABA PM+IS degree plan on the Wiki? 2. Should I still pursue the BABA or switch to BLS? My only concern is that I think these changes might affect other degrees as well. 3. Should I consider a different degree altogether? 4. With UoP receiving RA, should I consider them as well? RE: Need help with the UMPI changes - Hotdogman1 - 05-06-2025 1. See attached. The general information on the wiki is valid. Use the UMPI Transfer database to confirm everything in the pdfs https://mainestreetcs.maine.edu/psp/CSPR..._GUEST.GBL 2. It's up to you. The BLS was barely affected. BBAs are all viable but more annoying to get the "ideal" alt credits in. 3. We would probably need more info on what your future aspirations are. 4. The cost would be similar/cheaper but they are semester based so it would probably take a year to complete. They do have a CS degree so it's worth looking into. https://www.uopeople.edu/programs/online-bachelors/computer-science/ RE: Need help with the UMPI changes - bjcheung77 - 05-06-2025 Basically, create a spreadsheet with both the BLS & BBA PM/IS for reference, you've not started yet from your previous post/thread from last year, I suggest the BLS for max transfer and do a minor or two with the classes going towards the MAOL: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-Best-Fastest-degree-plan-for-a-BS-CS My suggestion is to get the Sophia.org or the Study.com College Starter plan to get up to 90 credits for max transfer into UMPI. You then need to complete the remaining 30 credits for residency at UMPI anyways. If you really want to switch to the BBA P&M, you can anytime... You're a few years younger than this person, I'm pretty much going to recommend you the same thing here: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-CS-Degree-What-would-be-the-best-path RE: Need help with the UMPI changes - Tomas - 05-06-2025 In previous thread year ago you mentioned possibility of continuing with masters degree. If that is still the plan, maybe try to think long-term and find which masters degree you wish to study. Some master degrees eg. in Europe have specific requirements (previous bachelors in same field, or certain number of hours of some subjects studied at bachelor level, etc.). |
