UoPeople Increased their fees - Heartstrings - 06-08-2025 I am not really too surprised. Now their MBA/MSIT is $450. Their MEd is $400 and their undergrad is $160. RE: UoPeople Increased their fees - Tomas - 06-08-2025 I was but only a bit, didn't expect it so soon, as it is not that long ago that undergrad went from 120 to 140. RE: UoPeople Increased their fees - Heartstrings - 06-08-2025 I think the undergrad degree is still a good cost. I think the MBA at $5400, that there are better options out there for just a little more money. I just checked HAU's website and they are still $3000. RE: UoPeople Increased their fees - cozykamura - 06-08-2025 I would still expect them to raise their prices even more (maybe $200 for undergrad next year), it was something they promised to do for accreditation. RE: UoPeople Increased their fees - bjcheung77 - 06-09-2025 Oh well, that was expected, once they received RA, changes were made... RE: UoPeople Increased their fees - soba - 06-09-2025 Will they increase the pay of the volunteer instructors too? I would think that part of getting RA certification might be that they have to have more full-time professors, which would raise their costs. RE: UoPeople Increased their fees - question - 06-10-2025 Surely the uopeople.edu fanboys/ambassadors/spammers will come tell us that the increase in tuition, er fees, is to "help Africa make an education revolution", or in other words help Africa enrich the fake Israeli website and its owners. That's strange, because they also tell us that Simone Biles and her mother are studying at uopeople.edu and have already paid everyone's tuition ![]() (06-09-2025, 12:11 PM)soba Wrote: Will they increase the pay of the volunteer instructors too? So far, the only concrete use they've made of WASC accreditation… is to increase tuition ![]() If it turns out the accreditation was a pretext to raise prices, then, wow, these guys are true marketing geniuses! What sucks is that the prices have gone up for everyone, not just new students ![]() RE: UoPeople Increased their fees - somethingdudesomething - 06-12-2025 The university 1st and 2nd attempt at regional accred got rejected for two main reasons, 1) student grading (or more accurately lack of instructor involvement in student outcomes) and 2) Quote:CFR 3.4: WASC simply told them, you guys are broke and there is no way you can maintain this growth just with bill gates donations and you have to hire specific staff for x, y and z. So currently they have to curb a bit on their scholarship and raise their fees while they seek more funding. Actually WASC forbade them in the first report from offering grad degrees until they rectified that issue, so as far as I can tell, they are simply following up on the plan. It sucks but unless they get more donations, that's how it's gonna be. Source: https://wascsenior.app.box.com/s/0ckskhhue03x7fhadvlybdd23m1ginru |
