Hi everyone,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I’m in the process of mapping out my BSBA in Operations Management at TESU and would really appreciate your input. My goal is to keep things as quick and easy as possible, with minimal touchstone projects on Sophia.org and 100% multiple-choice TECEP exams where I can.

A PDF of the degree plan is attached.

  1. Do these TECEP picks look optimal for the RA block, or are there even easier ones I’m missing?
  2. Anything better/easier suggestions I should swap out?
  3. What would make the most sense in terms of enrolling? Bang out the Sophia.org/study.com courses, then enroll and take the TECEPS? I don't know if time will allow me to take the final cornerstone/capstone classes in a single semester.

Fulfill 30 RA Credits

I plan to knock out all 30 RA credits via 8 TECEP exams (3 cr each) plus the TESU Info Literacy Cornerstone (SOS-1100) and Business Capstone (BUS-4210). Here are the TECEPs I’ve picked based on feedback on this site:
  • COM-2090-TE (Public Speaking)
  • STA-2010-TE (Principles of Statistics)
  • MAT-1050-TE (Applied Liberal Arts Mathematics)
  • ETH-2100-TE (Environmental Ethics)
  • PHI-1300-TE (Critical Reasoning)
  • HIS-1260-TE (World History, 1600–Present)
  • EAS-1311-TE (Meteorology)
  • CIS-1070-TE (Computer Concepts & Applications)
Plus SOS-1100 (Information Literacy) and BUS-4210 (Capstone)

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Welcome to the board, good initial post to get the ball rolling and starting the process, having said that, you're missing the addendum and template. It's great to ask questions and provide some details, but it's much better to have more info to provide a bigger picture of your scenario. The PDF plan is workable, but without answers to the various variables within the addendum and template, you have other options too. Please update us with the info requested here: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-New-to-DegreeForum-How-this-Area-works

Understood. I edited the initial post.

I think you picked a lot of the easier CLEP's.  One way to tell if they are easy is by taking the practice exam which includes a few sample questions.

You're missing English 1 and 2, which can be done on Sophia or via TECEP.

Written Communication 3SH ENC-1010 Writing for Success
ENC-1020 English Composition II

I assume that you are paying the TESU Accelerate Fee, since you only have 2 classes listed as being taken at TESU, with the remaining RA credits being TECEPs?

Going the TESU route, you're going to be out of budget... It won't really matter if you're right now set with TESU or not, your best bet is to create a spreadsheet for UMPI and UoPeople as your first choices, Excelsior and TESU should be your second choices. All 90+ credits you're going to be taking with Sophia.org $99/month or Study.com $95/month are going into the general electives and electives anyways. For EU, TESU, you'll have more transferable credits if needed, but TESU requires the RA, EU doesn't... You can add a cost column into your spreadseet and see which one comes out on top for cost, ease, speed.
