TESU BIOLOGY - Which ACE provider has this one? - kakasahib - 07-01-2025 Hello, everyone. Need help with young cousin who just became a modern Columbus and landed in NJ. He wanted to be a nurse but WES made his degree equivalent to a US BS in Physics degree. He applied for TESU "Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)" and evaulation transcript stated that his first degree missing these equaliant course. I am hoping if you can help with site can help to get credit. From what I recall, for transfer credit into the sciences, it can't be ACE/NCCRS or exams, it's got to be a butt-in-seat class from RA institution. It may work for the NA institutions since they've recently opened up to taking NA classes case-by-case basis... Once you have that answered, you can then proceed on the next step, finding transferable classes. RE: TESU BIOLOGY - Which ACE provider has this one? - Jonathan Whatley - 07-01-2025 TESU offers a fully online BS in Health Studies program designed in part to include the prerequisites for the Accelerated BSN. This implies that TESU does not strictly require butt-in-seat classes for the ABSN prerequisites – although they may still require coursework from an accredited institution as opposed to alt-credit. RE: TESU BIOLOGY - Which ACE provider has this one? - bjcheung77 - 07-01-2025 Basically, TESU may have made changes more easy over the last year or two, but doesn't make it a given... This is my answer last year "TESU has ABSN, but again, requirements needed must be butt-in-seat and not online"...: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-Newbie-Affordable-Accelerated-Nursing-Program?pid=418784#pid418784 This page no longer exists, maybe because they've updated their website, but I couldn't find it by clicking the link: Even one of our senior members missed the bottom portion of that link...: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-TESU-ABSN-Program?pid=383870#pid383870 @kakasahib, Just to be safe, get in contact with TESU advising to verify. My answer back then was the same in 2022: Review the last post #8 on that second link above. Essentially, for any health related programs, requirements must be met, you need to make sure online alternative credit options are usable, it's different than taking online classes from RA institutions. RE: TESU BIOLOGY - Which ACE provider has this one? - Jonathan Whatley - 07-01-2025 The ABSN itself is certainly butt-in-seat! RE: TESU BIOLOGY - Which ACE provider has this one? - kakasahib - 07-01-2025 Bryan and Jonathan, You are both correct, and ABSN is BUTT-IN-SEAT, but they want WEST BS Physics to be missing those above BIO mandatory courses for the first BS degree. FOr to be admitted, he needs to have First BS to be missing those 18 credits. He spoke to the advisor and she didn't help much. He has another appointment tomorrow (Wed 10:30 AM) to see what happened. I told him if no response, just drive to their small Butt in Campus in Trenton (only 15 miles from his home) to speak someone in person. RE: TESU BIOLOGY - Which ACE provider has this one? - bjcheung77 - 07-02-2025 At the time being, get the evaluation, find out what classes are remaining and if they can all be applied to the 15 credit residency... decide to pay the Edison Accelerate Fee or pay the 15 credit flat rate, it all boils down to cost, ease, speed to finish, find that medium... RE: TESU BIOLOGY - Which ACE provider has this one? - ss20ts - 07-02-2025 Who wants a nurse who complete their bio classes on Sophia? As someone who's been hospitalized multiple times I cannot imagine Sophia's courses really providing the education needed to be a nurse. I've taken Sophia science courses and science courses at colleges and the 2 don't compare at all. RE: TESU BIOLOGY - Which ACE provider has this one? - kakasahib - 07-07-2025 Those are high school BIO. Remember that any hospital (even doctor) trained during their training. Thats all about how and what you learn not wht you read. You read to have a basic understanding but actual works will be in the labs and hospital internship. No different for the doctor you see who has many new resident follow him/her in teaching hos[ital. RE: TESU BIOLOGY - Which ACE provider has this one? - kakasahib - 07-07-2025 I have some updates. My cousin spoke intensively to the TESU advisors, and here is what he learned. TESU gets about 250 applicants for ABSN, and they have only 50 seats. The average GPA must be 3.75 for guarantee admission. He has a WES evaluation gave him a 3.17 GPA, and his advisor suggested that he should take all those 18 credits to improve his GPA and higher chance in Spring 2026. SO i told him since look for Felician University or Gorgian Court University. |
