VUL or OakState for ENEB Master’s Credit Transfer? - Lyd - 07-05-2025

Hey everyone,

I’m currently deciding between Virginia University of Lynchburg (VUL) and OakState.edu after completing the Global Master’s from ENEB. I’m mainly trying to figure out which school will give me the most value based on transfer credit potential and how they evaluate foreign credentials.

Here’s what I’m considering:
1. Credit Transfer Potential: I’ve heard OakState might allow 18–30 transfer credits toward their Doctorate in Healthcare Administration (DHCA) program — which could make it significantly cheaper than VUL.
2. Accreditation & Evaluation: ENEB isn’t regionally accredited, but evaluators like Validential can convert it to the U.S. equivalent of a master’s degree. The tricky part is whether OakState accepts Validential, or only evaluators approved by AACOMAS.

My questions:
• Does anyone know if VUL or OakState is more likely to accept an ENEB Global Master’s evaluated by Validential?
• Has anyone actually transferred up to 30 credits from ENEB (or a similar program) into OakState’s DHCA program?
• If Validential isn’t accepted by OakState, does anyone know of a foreign evaluator that is AACOMAS-approved and has worked in similar cases?

Any insight would really help — I just want to make the smartest decision moving forward.

Thanks in advance!

I admit up front that I have not personally gone through VUL, and have no idea if they accept ENEB,but I have not heard of anyone successfully transferring credits into the DHA itself. That being said, the DHA at VUL is only 36 hours in length but requires a student to have 90 graduate hours total in order to receive a diploma....
So your credits could very well apply towards meeting the remaining 54 hours.

All of that said, if it is within your ability I would strongly suggest the DHA at Oklahoma State over VUL

I don't think that you will be able to do what you are trying to do by mixing and matching requirements. ENEB isn't a real Master's Degree and trying to find schools that will accept a Validential evaluation AND that have a good DHA program is going to be even tougher. VUL only accepts WES or equivalent, so not Validential. VUL also requires that you have 90 credits beyond a Bachelor's, so you are going to need an actual masters degree and not ENEB. As the DHA only grants you 36 credits, you must make up the remaining 54 with graduate coursework that VUL would accept.

OakState is even more stringent that VUL in that they state expicitly,

"Students who have earned a post baccalaureate degree in a health related discipline from another state institution may be granted a maximum of 30 credit hours towards the core and elective DHA courses with program director approval. Transcripts will be evaluated on a case by case basis and reviewed by the Faculty Admissions Committee to determine if/how many credits from a previous matriculation may apply."

So I don't know how you could read that and think "ENEB might work". If you want a quick Master's degree, you could look into WGU. If you are motivated, there are some Masters that you can finish in one term or less.

The University's Registrar can give you advice on the acceptability of foreign transcript evaluation services. Typically, NACES-evaluated organizations are accepted by regionally accredited schools. Has Validential become a NACES member? In my experience, some schools only accept very particular NACES-approved evaluation services as well! Like World Education Services, etc. As far as the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOMAS), it is for acceptance to osteopathic medical school.

That's a big negative.

At this point in time, my only recommendation is to decide on institutions after you've obtained your short list of, have you searched the graduate section on this or the sister board? You need to provide a bit more details on what you bring to the table and what you're eligible for, each institution has their own requirements.

Some will accept non-NACES evaluators and others will not, all FCE's evaluate differently as well... You need to know which pathway you want, from Bachelors to Masters, and beyond. Makes more sense to go VUL if you want a Doctor title that’s accredited(TRACS-not preferred) with the advantage of being easier and quicker (36 hours) as the remaining hours (54 hours) would be satisfied by the Global Masters. VUL, as evidenced by other members accepts Validential. What we have been hearing though is Validential not evaluating ENEB anymore, however, even if they don’t you still have two other evaluators that will evaluate as graduate credits so you’ll still have the credits to satisfy the remaining 54 hours.

Unfortunately, I’ve learned that VUL requires a completed master’s degree in order to be accepted into the DHA program. Would a graduate certificate or a transcript showing graduate-level credits be considered sufficient to meet this prerequisite?

In contrast, I understand that Oak State does not require a full master’s degree but does require graduate-level credits. My question is whether Oak State would accept credits from the ENEB Global Master’s program as eligible for transfer toward their DHA program. Does UI1 send our transcripts or only ENEB?

Any clarification you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

A graduate certificate is not a master's degree. You need an actual master's degree.
