TESU BSBA Final Stretch Check-In for Support - KSoul - 08-08-2025 Hi Rock Stars, My younger brother is in the final phase of his TESU journey, and I want to make sure I’m not missing anything to support his goal. For context, the current use case for the BSBA degree is to qualify for entry into a German university. He earned his GED at 16, which does not meet university admission requirements in Germany. He also holds a Realschule (intermediate school) and Hauptschule (general secondary) qualification. Earning a Gymnasium credential (12th/13th year) would require an extra, unnecessary year, whereas completing the BSBA eliminates that step and bonus; he has a bachelor's degree versus a bloated German High School certification. Location: Germany Age: 17 Degree Goal: BSBA Budget: $4-6k Commitments: Full-time study Timeline: Q1 2026 Tuition Assistance: None Credit Mix (Sophia, Straighterline, Study & Coursera) Remaining TESU courses per evaluation:
Am I missing something here? Is this plan off track, or is there a more efficient way to complete this final stretch? Thanks for your insights. RE: TESU BSBA Final Stretch Check-In for Support - jg_nuy - 08-08-2025 He needs 30 RA credits for TESU. To use the 15-credit flat rate, he would need to do those in a session at TESU and they would not be TECEP, as only military can use TECEPs for residency. The remaining 15 credits (out of 30) could be at TESU (e.g. 5 TECEPs for 15 credits) or transferred (e.g. from ASU Universal Learner or other such providers of RA credits). RE: TESU BSBA Final Stretch Check-In for Support - KSoul - 08-08-2025 If I've read this response correctly, then one option would be to have him complete the ENEB Master's degree to obtain the RA transfer credits and do the TESU Flat rate for the 15 credits. RE: TESU BSBA Final Stretch Check-In for Support - Pikachu - 08-08-2025 Is a TESU degree recognized in Germany? RE: TESU BSBA Final Stretch Check-In for Support - artem - 08-08-2025 TESU has an Anabin rating H+/- Better to stick to universities with H+ rating RE: TESU BSBA Final Stretch Check-In for Support - bjcheung77 - 08-08-2025 Basically, for SOS-1100 Information Literacy Today, it's a cornerstone, not a capstone. Being at your age of 17, TESU is a very good option, unless you want to jump to Excelsior or PUG, I'd stay with TESU. I would add several ACE/Coursera professional certificates to the mix of certs, degree, experience. My suggestion actually is the controversial ENEB option of getting either RA Bachelors undergraduate credit or RA grad cert for graduate certificate to be repurposed into the TESU BSBA RA requirements. You need to decide, if the Edison Accelerate Fee is what you're looking at or the flat rate tuition. RE: TESU BSBA Final Stretch Check-In for Support - KSoul - 08-09-2025 Thanks, @bjcheung7. That was my thought as well (or at least one of them). Given his age, he does have certain limitations; however, TESU meets the need well and offers a meaningful connection with our father, @RANSOMSOUL. It will be a nice full-circle moment: the oldest and youngest in the family both graduating from TESU. I still need to review the details of both the Accelerate Fee (\$3,400) and the Flat Rate (\$4,561) to ensure we fully understand the structure. If he pursues the ENEB route, the Accelerate plan currently seems like the better fit. That said, I want to clarify the total cost and compare the efficiency of completion for both options before recommending a final decision. Talked with ZAB about TESU; they expressed that the BSBA would require some additional evaluation steps versus an H+ route, but based on their experience, did not anticipate it being an issue for my brother. However, now that you have it in my head again, perhaps we should at least have a side-by-side with Excelsior, TESU & PUG (UMPI doesn't work due to his age). RE: TESU BSBA Final Stretch Check-In for Support - KSoul - 08-12-2025 Question about the ENEB path and TESU for RA credits Does the ENEB Exam option work the same as the traditional ENEB route when it comes to earning RA credits? Also, I’ve read in the ENEB thread that you should be careful who evaluates your credentials, as the report should state bachelor credits rather than a bachelor’s or master’s equivalent (as Validential does). Is this accurate? Here’s why I’m asking: My recommendation to my brother would be to complete a master’s degree (either through the traditional ENEB route or the ENEB Exam option, depending on the feedback here), have it evaluated by Validential, and then submit it to TESU to fulfill the RA requirement. However, after reading through the always-entertaining ENEB thread, I’m still not entirely sure if this is the correct understanding of how the process works. RE: TESU BSBA Final Stretch Check-In for Support - homeschoolmom1 - 08-12-2025 I haven't looked into ENEB, but our son got all his RA courses from Finnish Universities of Applied Science. They were free, online and unproctored. You might want to look into that for your brother. I think he will reasonably be able to do that within a few months if he puts his mind to it. Search this forum for more info. RE: TESU BSBA Final Stretch Check-In for Support - KSoul - 09-07-2025 Attached is an updated evaluation document detailing my brother's current standing after a new series of transferred credits. What isn't reflected at this point are the ENEB RA credits and his TECEP BUS-3110 Business in Society that will be completed in two weeks. From the way I read it, he will need to complete SOS-1100 Information Literacy Today & Capstone, plus two additional TECEPS (any course that fits into the degree), and he will be good to go. Is he missing any key action for this final phase, or something that I have misunderstood for the completion process? |
