Health Informatics - lkdb87 - 10-23-2025 Hello, I'm looking for recommendations for an online, asynchronous master's program in Health Informatics with a total cost as close to $10,000 as possible. I've looked at a few different health informatics programs, but the tuition is astronomical (to me at least, I'm a WGU grad so I'm spoiled). I'd also be open to MHA or MSIT programs that have a health informatics concentration. Currently Amberton University's MHA program with their grad cert in Healthcare Informatics is looking like a good option, but I'm wanting to explore other options too. Thank you! RE: Health Informatics - Jonathan Whatley - 10-23-2025 A few on GetEducated’s list are between 15 and 20K out-of-state, including University of Illinois Springfield, and Dakota State University (which also has an online PhD in IS with healthcare IS specialization). Boston U is 20K. Not sure which are asynchronous. RE: Health Informatics - freeloader - 10-23-2025 lkdb87, are you a nurse? If yes, would you be interested in a nursing informatics degrees? RE: Health Informatics - Duneranger - 10-25-2025 99.9999% of health informatics jobs go to nurses or MDs. For any decent jobs, it's pretty important to have a clinical background. I'm not a nurse, but do have a clinical background and am already employed in health IT. The informatics masters would be for advancement at my current employer. RE: Health Informatics - bjcheung77 - 10-26-2025 Just curious... Which program did you finish at WGU? Maybe try to ladder into a Masters at WGU and make it a one-and-done combo... |
