Study.com Updates That Could Help Charter Oak Students Earn Credits More Efficiently - bjcheung77 - 11-13-2025

For Charter Oak students looking to complete general education or elective requirements through ACE-approved courses, Study.com has made several updates that may make it a convenient option to consider:

$95/month plan
Study.com now offers a $95/month plan that includes access to 70 ACE-approved courses — covering many Charter Oak gen ed, business and liberal studies requirements. Students can work on two courses at a time but can start new ones as soon as each is completed, which lets you take advantage of the self-paced set-up.

Open-book, open-note finals
All final exams are now open book and open note, and they’re no longer proctored. This makes scheduling simpler and can help reduce testing-related stress.

Faster grading turnaround
Written assignments are typically graded within a couple of days, which can make it easier to maintain steady progress toward credit completion.

Mobile learning app

Study.com’s new mobile app allows learners to complete lessons, take quizzes and track progress on the go — useful for those balancing coursework with other responsibilities.

Transfer equivalencies
Many Study.com courses continue to transfer to Charter Oak. It may be worth checking for updated equivalencies if you’re planning your next set of transfer credits. You can check out the courses that transfer here: https://study.com/college/school/charter-oak-state-college.html?adkey=eda9847cda664406840db845f2a02f6b

In short: With the new pricing plan, faster grading and unproctored finals, Study.com may offer a more streamlined path for completing transferable credits before your next Charter Oak term.

While this is a nice thought, COSC really eviscerated Sophia and Study.com transfers three and a half years ago. It's mostly electives now, which doesn't get you very far. If I were going for a COSC degree today, I would probably focus on StraighterLine courses and CLEP through Modern States.
