Holocaust Courses - MichaelGates - 01-27-2026 International Holocaust Remembrance Day, is today January 27th. Holocaust Courses I am looking for courses on the Holocaust that are online, free and offer a certificate. The courses can be historical, medical care, etc. I began a project two weeks ago and courses would be helpful. I found one Caring for Holocaust Survivors With Sensitivity at the End of Life. It was online, free, and gave a certificate. I completed it in a little over three hours. RE: Holocaust Courses - wow - 01-27-2026 Yad Vashem (The World Holocaust Remembrance Center) offers some excellent free courses: https://www.yadvashem.org/education/online-courses.html Whether the certificate is free depends on the platform where it is offered; Coursera, you have to pay for a certificate, but I think you can get one free on FutureLearn. Thank you for providing this and reminding us of what today holds. I was reading some of the stuff in here, and the first thought to come to mind (aside from how sad this actually is) is that these pages themselves will become historical documents in medicine as there will no longer be any survivors from this in the near future. I've only met one survivor in my lifetime, but their stories are as equally hopeful as they discuss how they have continued to live their lives post this event. RE: Holocaust Courses - SteveFoerster - 01-27-2026 There's no wrong day to remember, of course. But, just as a point of interest, today is the day ironically sponsored by the UN to remember the Holocaust, whereas the Jewish people remember on Yom HaShoah, which takes place this year on April 14th. Another difference is that Yom HaShoah is particularly for remembering Jewish Holocaust victims, like Roma Holocaust Memorial Day (August 2) is specifically for remembering Romani and Sinti victims. As far as I understand, International Holocaust Remembrance Day is for both, as well as for those killed in concentration camps (about half of Jewish victims were killed outside of concentration camps, and a small minority of people put in concentration camps were not Jewish, Romani, or Sinti).
