Mahatma Gandhi University Online MBA and Master Degree - durain - 05-01-2026 This offering from India, Mahatma Gandhi University, looks interesting. MBA , Master in Economics and some others. It appears to have a decent ranking, is open to international students. The estimated total cost for international students should be around USD 1,500 to USD 3,000, depending on the programme selected. The exams are conducted online with proctoring, which could make it convenient for overseas applicants. I thought this might be worth a look: https://cdoe.mgu.ac.in/programmes/master-of-business-administration/ RE: Mahatma Gandhi University Online MBA and Master Degree - Jonathan Whatley - 05-01-2026 The main tuition posted is for domestic students from India. For the MBA for example, Quote:For International Students, The Application Fee Will Be $30 And Semester Fee Will Be $650 USD 650 x 4 semesters = USD 2600 in semester fees for international students. There are an average of 8 courses or subjects listed per semester, so add apparently Rs. 500 x 8 x 4 = INR 16000 ≈ USD 170 in exam fees. RE: Mahatma Gandhi University Online MBA and Master Degree - SteveFoerster - 05-01-2026 It's not $800: "For International students, the application fee will be $30 and semester fee will be $650" Their curriculum is four semesters long, so a Master degree through them would be $2,630 plus whatever other exam fee they might have. That's still awfully low by North American standards, but I can see why an American might pay a little more for HAU's MBA instead to keep from having to answer obnoxious questions. EDIT: Ah well, I shouldn't be surprised that Jonathan beat me to it!

For the MBA for example,Oh pardon, I was looking only at the MA in Economics earlier. I have revised the information accordingly. Current estimated fees appear to be: MA Economics – cost not listed for international students MBA – around USD 2,600+ as you mentioned MA English – around USD 1,300 M.Commerce – around USD 1,600 With the MBA priced at this level, as Steve mentioned, HAU's MBA does appear to be the more attractive option. RE: Mahatma Gandhi University Online MBA and Master Degree - wow - 05-01-2026 Not bad for an English MA! I've also been looking at Andhra University's English MA. They look pretty similar. Andhra is supposed to be just $300 for the whole degree, but I have a hard time believing it. I imagine books add to the cost of either, especially if they are difficult to find in the U.S. RE: Mahatma Gandhi University Online MBA and Master Degree - Jonathan Whatley - 05-01-2026 (05-01-2026, 02:16 PM)wow Wrote: I imagine books add to the cost of either, especially if they are difficult to find in the U.S. On the sister board Dustin described using a freight forwarder to order books to a virtual address in India then have them consolidated and shipped to him in the US. Tariffs could make this a nightamre. The degrees we're talking about definitely aren't fast. They're normal pace, two years. Purchasing and shipping books would need to total $10,000 dollars before the tuition began to approach the cheapest U.S. tuition rates for an English MA. If any shipping needed to be done at all, it would likely only need to be done for a handful of courses. I imagine I can find books by UK and American authors in the US pretty easily. Everyone has their own things that they are or aren't willing to tolerate. Explaining international degrees can be tricky sometimes too unfortunately. I was referring to the freight forwarding of the books. As someone who regularly makes purchases from the EU and waits months for them to arrive in the US, it's slow, expensive, and frustrating. Customs can move at a snail's pace. |
