I have put the CLEP Calculus exam and the TECEP Phsics I & II exams in my degree plan. I did this because there is still some crazy part of me that thinks 30+ years in a laboratory should count for something.
There are no specific feedback threads on any of these exams so I am just wondering if anyone else has tried them.

My son took the LSU Calculus 1 course, got frustrated 3/4's of the way through because of never ending homework assignments (which he scored 90-100 on), took the CLEP Calc test and got a 48, then took the FREE UEXCEL Calculus exam UExcel - Beta Testing and feels very confident that he passed. He said the UEXCEL was far more generic than the CLEP.
He also took the 6 credit UEXCEL Physics and felt he passed.
It would seem to me that since you can take the UEXCEL exams twice for free until November 15, that you should strongly consider that action first.

I have never taken or looked into the UEXCEL exams. Do you know if TESC is accepting them? Where do you take them? Is there a site to find out more? DUH now I saw your link

I read over the info this is a great idea, I have nothing to lose. Even if I fail this I will learn a lot and still be able to do the CLEP or TECEP. You may have just saved me a lot of time and money.hilarious

What is the range and what is passing? Are they harder then :eek: the average test?

Uexcel tests are for now beta tests.they dont seem to be harder nor easier than other tests, I would say they are at the same level than clep, at first the beta test was supposed to run until the end of August then they switched to end of September and now mid November, once the beta testing period is FINALLY over(who knows when) then add another couple month for them to calculate your scores.. we probably going to get this thing on a transcript sometimes by next year !! I took all of them in July hoping they would give me some credits by now and still waiting.. I think its ridiculous !! they should be able to get their stuff together faster than that. I know they are trying to reach a desired number of tests taken, inorder to start to grade but hey once you say a date and you dont have enough, you gotta do with what you have and get the job done and not make people wait almost 2 semesters to get their computer based scores !! I strongly suggest to all of you guys who took these tests and who are waiting for your scores to write emails(testadmn@excelsior.edu also info@uexceltest.com) and complain about this situation so hopefully they will somehow manage to get these scores going faster than scheduled.

Ali4nia so you don't even know yet if you passed and can forget this stuff or failed and need to go do it again? I am not a patient person that might drive me nuts(or should I say MORE nuts).

no we dont know if we passed or failed ! I m thinking of taking clep calculus myself because I need these credits asap !!
