ACEI Finland evaluation to TESU - homeschoolmom1 - 07-30-2026
Our son had his Finnish credits sent to TESU via ACEI. Then, they all just showed up as electives with various course numbers. I have no idea how each course was actually evaluated. Does TESU keep a list of equivalencies that we just haven't found yet in his file, or do I have to guess which of the courses on his TESU evaluation came out as equivalent to which course? Or do I have to request this by email?

First, it would be helpful to know which courses your son took at which Finnish university so that we have a better overview.
Second, your son's courses were first evaluated by ACEI and ACEI decided which of those credits are either LL vs UL level, usually the FCE takes the same naming of what the original university defined. TESU then evaluates how each of those Finnish courses could map to one of their courses in their course catalogs. If there is nothing comparable, they do something like ITS-4999 special topics or something similar. This is completely up to the TESU course evaluators.
Third, yes, they have a list of equivalencies but if you show up with completely new courses they have never seen before, they have to come up with new equivalencies.
Fourth, the course equivalencies are displayed in your myStudent portal. At "My Progress", click on the hamburger menu icon in the upper left corner, and go to Academics > Transfer credit evaluated by TESU.
Would you mind telling us what degree your son took classes for?
