Hey, for those of you that have taken this test and passed any words of wisdom? What did you study? Was it hard if you haven't read all of the books since the 1800's?
I bought the Idiots guide to American Literature but I am wondering if I need to read a whole bunch of cliffs notes or something.

[SIZE="4"]That's the book I used. Pay close attention to the "Least you should know" sections as they are a big help. GOOD LUCK!![/SIZE]

I used that book also for the American Lit. CLEP and found it VERY helpful. I also used Sparknotes online (free cliffnotes) to get some background information on some of the classics... but my primary resource was that book.

I studied two weeks hard for this using primarily REA. I thought you really had to know a lot of titles, authors, plots and even the major characters in the more famous works. As always, hone in on any of the politically-correct authors/themes of modern works - they like to ask about women, minorities, scandelous themes, etc. It is hard - you have to memorize and study. But you can do it!

I'm studying for American Literature using the Idiot's guide and Norton Anthology. I'm wondering if this is harder than Humanities. Also, how is the Peterson's test material compared to the actual test? Any suggestions?
