Here's to your health today - MagicATC - 07-12-2006

Did the Here's to your health test today. IC is all you need as you may have already read. There were some questions that were not on IC but half of those were common knowledge. The ones that were not covered were easily narrowed down to a 50/50 guess. I could have passed this cold but IC helped me be sure of an A. One question I didn't know was How many calories equals to a pound. I recommend this one for a good first try. I hope this helps. Please feel free to add other stuff I forgot.

3,500 (or a Big Mac and Large Fries).

I must be some kind of medical mystery because, apparently, it only takes about 100 calories for me to put on a pound.
hilarious

Congrats! I am taking this one as soon as it comes into my testing center, probably in the next two weeks, so it's good to read your insights.!

Way to go!

Thanks,

I just ordered this exam and will be taking it after the Principles of Supervision exam in a few weeks. From reading the posts on this thread, the IC site should be sufficient studying material for passing the exam. Can others who have taken this exam let me know if this is a true statement?

Thanks,

Alaskan

I found it to be true!

As long as you thoroughly study Instantcert, you should do great on both these exams. If there is any term or concept you are unsure about after going through the Instantcert material, do a google search or look it up at wikipedia.com.

In my opinion, both Here's to Your Health and Principles of Supervision tend towards the "easier" end of the DANTES spectrum.

Study hard as always though.

Good luck,

Hi, I'm new here and taking my first Dsst Here's to your health next week. I am so nervous as this is my first test. I have read everything I could find but would love to see more detail about the test. Sample questions, areas to really study ect. It seems as though most people take this cold and think it is very easy but a few have said that it was hard and of course those are the posts that stick in my head. Big Grin

Thank you so much for all your help.

Wendy

Hi Wendy,

Welcome to the board!

Personally, I wouldn't dream of taking this (or any other) exam totally cold. But Instantcert is more than enough to pass this one. If you are familiar with all the areas covered in Instantcert, you will most likely do very well. The fact that you are nervous is actually a good sign, because it means you are probably studying hard. Right?

Try not to let your pre-test nerves get out of hand though. If you have studied well, you will NOT struggle with this exam. It is a GREAT choice for your first DANTES exam.

Prepare as well as you can, then go into the exam confident that you will pass. Take your time (it's untimed), don't panic, tackle each question as you come to it, and you will be done before you know it.

Use your nervousness to your advantage, the adrenaline boost will actually help you (as long as you can keep it under control).

Best of luck to you,
Snazzlefrag

Welcome to Instantcert Academy! (As another poster stated We're in the same boat! "USS DANTES")

Taking the First step is the hardest. I have been here reading these boards well over a year. Last month(June 20) I finally took my first DSST (Intro to Computing) and walked out of the test center feeling like I failed. Well July 17 I got my score in the mail. I received a 65, which is an A at EC.

So study, go take the test, and study for the next one.

The waiting will kill you, but if you start studying for the next one, time goes by quickly.

I have 2 waiting for me to take. Civil War and Here's to your Health. I also ordered MIS at another test center and will take it and Information Systems and Computer Applications on the same day..

Good Luck and keep us updated.
