need help(abnormal psych ece) - sabrachfeld - 01-17-2009 I'm planning on taking the ECE on abnormal psychology in two weeks, this is the first ECE that I'm taking and need help about how the test works in general and what do I need to know and the best way to study for the abnormal psych test in particular. Thanks in advance need help(abnormal psych ece) - craftkc10 - 01-17-2009 A lot of good info here: http://www.degreeforum.net/specific-exam-feedback-instantcert-subscribers-only/1521-abnormal-psychology-ece.html need help(abnormal psych ece) - dc67 - 01-18-2009 EC Exams are similar to DSST in that there are 4 multiple choice answers. The upper level tests I have taken have been between 130-160 questions though and tougher than DSST or CLEP. Abnormal Psych was the first one I took. I think I got a C on it even though I felt better than that. What I have noticed about ECE is that since it is UL, there is just alot more information to try and remember.I have been in a rush here at the end and have paid the price. I got a D and a F on 2 ECE and it could have been prevented had I given myself more time. Now I am taking 2 extra months to try and replace one of the grades but even if I do better, I am still out another $235. My advice, take your time and make sure you are ready. Like many others say, buy the practice exams. For the most part I have not and my grades have paid the price. Doug need help(abnormal psych ece) - Professor_Adam - 01-18-2009 Make sure you download the free Exam Content guide for Abnormal Psychology from the Excelsior website. The content guide covers all the subjects and sub-subjects you will see on the exam. The guide also tells you which textbooks were used to make the test questions. I used to buy a cheap used version of the textbooks and study from the chapter summaries. I felt this helped out tremendously with ECEs. I concur that these exams are more difficult than the average CLEP/DSST. Don't go into one of these exams without very good preparation. need help(abnormal psych ece) - peace123 - 01-18-2009 sabrachfeld Wrote:I'm planning on taking the ECE on abnormal psychology in two weeks, this is the first ECE that I'm taking and need help about how the test works in general and what do I need to know and the best way to study for the abnormal psych test in particular. The following link explains how they arrive at the grading for the ECE's It also gives some interesting information about each exam (# of questions, content areas by percentage, etc. ) https://www.excelsior.edu/Excelsior_College/Publications/Excelsior_College_Exams_Technical_Handbook_2007.pdf need help(abnormal psych ece) - categ - 01-18-2009 So I have to take several upper level electives to finish up my degree. Since I am going for a business degree, I think I will take most of them through DSST (Bus. Law II, Money and Banking, etc.) but I will have to take one UL from Excelsior. Can I get some opinions as to what is the most "doable" UL exam at EC? need help(abnormal psych ece) - dc67 - 01-18-2009 I have been pretty mediocre at ECE's but the easiest for me was Orginizational Behavior. It had some common sense stuff in it. need help(abnormal psych ece) - cookderosa - 01-18-2009 I made a treatment chart you can have. It's a docx file, so I can't seem to upload it here- email me if you want it: cookderosa@aol.com need help(abnormal psych ece) - sabrachfeld - 01-27-2009 Thanks everyone for responding. I just took the ECE practice exam on abnormal psych and scored a 74, I was wondering can I feel confident enough on how I did to go ahead and take the exam or should I put in more study time? |
