straighterline algebra - candothis - 01-22-2009 Hi Guys, Is anyone else taking strighterline algebra right now? I started off great with 45/50 on the first exam and 50/50 on the second. I skipped the third and went on to the fourth exam thinking I would come back to the 3rd module later, only to get a rude awakening. I scored a shameful25/60 ![]() I better buckle down and really get things in before I take the next test . G straighterline algebra - DLLOYD - 01-26-2009 Do you find the program hard? How many hours does it take to complete a module? Have you used your 10 hours of one on one tutoring? straighterline algebra - candothis - 01-27-2009 DLLOYD Wrote:Do you find the program hard? Hi Sorry I missed your question. I am 3/4 done with the course. I will not say that it is a breeze. Being an open book exam is NOT as easy as it looks. You really have to know your stuff before you attempt the exam.Otherwise it will show in your scores. As you can see from my previous post I got excited and took an exam without having the facts in straight-big mistake. Next time I actually studied and did well. I have slowed down my pace due to other activities. Should be done by this weekend. Will keep you posted. BTW I have not needed to use ANY tutoring. candothis straighterline algebra - norema - 01-28-2009 Are the lessons taught through examples and with some trial and error ones to work on, like ALEKS courses are? I suppose I'm trying to figure out if a book is actually necessary. straighterline algebra - JBjunior - 01-29-2009 A book is necessary..... or online assistance. straighterline algebra - candothis - 01-29-2009 norema Wrote:Are the lessons taught through examples and with some trial and error ones to work on, like ALEKS courses are? I suppose I'm trying to figure out if a book is actually necessary. The lessons are actually pretty well presented. BUT math is a big game of practice. The book I bought from amazon is actually an older version and pretty useless for me. Although I sometimes wish I had the original one they are referring to. Nontheless its pretty doable. Candothis straighterline algebra - DLLOYD - 02-08-2009 I only need 3 credits for math... But I am scared of College Math CLEP. Would you recommend I do College Math CLEP or Straightliner Algebra? I have already passed Ethics, Here's to your Health, Int Lit, and I take Soc Sci and History this Tuesday night. I would loved to hear which way you think I should go. Thanks! straighterline algebra - jackzack87 - 02-22-2010 have no fear of CLEP college math. It's advanced arithmetic. Unless for some strange reason you can do algebra easily and not most high school level mathmatics, go for it. Study up, of course, first. Shouldn't be a big sweat.
