I posted a couple of weeks ago asking whether I should take humanities or American Literature. I decided to go with humanities. Ive been studying and it just seems so overwhelming. While at my school library today I saw American Lit for Dummies and scanned through it . It seems like it would be easier (less names to remember) than humanities. I think I can change the test but I need to take it on Monday no matter what. Should I switch to Am lit or stay with humanities since Ive started and the test is so soon. Im studying mostly the comex book, a little of IC flashcards and just checked out from the library Barrons "how to prepare for the clep" and "petersons clep success." Ive also read the specific exam feedback for humanities so theres no shortage of study material its just so much memorization. Any suggestions would be helpful, I need to decide ASAP...Thanks

I did Humanities and only studied from the IC flashcards, the suggestions from the thread about the Humanities exam, and a Peterson practice test. I ended up with a 62 on the exam so I was very happy. There are A LOT of names and my test gave a lot of exerpt from literature and wanted you to name who the author or poet was. It was a hard exam but its doable. I think that since you've already started studying for it you should stick it out. Good luck!

Me personally, I found Am. Lit much harder because the material was a lot less familiar--and sorta weird.
Humanities is wide but it's not very deep, if you know what I mean. I think I'd stick with it.You can pass Humanities on Monday if you study, study, study the IC flashcards. You need to go over every section 3-4 times. Yes, that will take hours. But it will pay off.

Thanks for the info, its helpful. For some reason on this test Im not focusing as much on the IC flash cards as other sources. Maybe I need to go back to that as my main study source and use the others as a back up.
