Anyone for some pork???? - dc67 - 01-30-2009

Has anyone been reading the details in the "stimulus" bill. How is giving money to planned parentood and acorn going to help the economy. This is the biggest pork barrel spending bill ever passed, or about to be passed. Everyone needs to read up on it and call and write their representitives. Obama and the entire Congress that votes for this should all go to prison.

Obama campaigned on Bushes wasteful spending among other things, and this bill is 3 times as bis as any deficit Bush ever had.

Is this the CHANGE Obama promised us???? Go figure, I am not surprised and I know you aren't. ACORN, are you kidding me? Aarrgghh. I hope the American public has enough sense to review and challenge the CHANGES in store for us no matter who they voted for.

It really is sickening. These last couple of months I have really been contemplating my own personal philosophies in regards to current events. Here is one thought; I am a dyed-in-the-wool conservative! As such I feel that capitalism works if it is left alone. In my view the best way to fix the economy in the long run would be to give tax breaks to everybody but especially small businesses and the people who own them. Even if these entities just put their money in a bank it is going to be either invested in the stock market or used to give loans out to other people. What would probably happen is that these businesses and individuals would spend this money on either more employee's or technology and equipment to help their business. If that happens then presto you have a good economy! (this is way oversimplified but I think you guys can grasp my meaning)

Obama on the other hand feels that the best way to jumpstart the economy is to start pumping money into the lower classes by keeping them employed. If you think about it though, these people will generally spend the majority of their money on consumer goods. (Food, electronics, lottery tickets, you get the idea) The prime example of this philosophy is the New Deal.

So Obama and I have significant differences. However, I wished him well and hoped that his programs could prove me wrong and that finally somebody would do what they said they would do. BUT NO! This bill is the largest spending extravaganza ever for the Dems. Every social program they could ever want is in this bill. For crying out loud there is $250 million buckaroos dedicated to the people who will oversee this monstrosity! Of the $819 billion only $30 billion is going to roads. Now that still is a lot of money but it is only 3.66% of the pie! And that is the only part of the bill the media and the Dems are talking about. Where is the rest of the money going? This is no stimulus package; it is just a lie to cover up the transfer at one fell swoop from a democracy to socialism. Jumping Jojoba’s, why is $350 million devoted to researching STD's?! I usually control myself and try not to be inflammatory but if we don't see what those scumbags in Washington are doing, America as we know it is doomed!

I really respect our government not because they deserve respect for what they do but because they are our leaders (like it or not) elected by us (what a privalege) and allowed by God for our betterment or chastisment so I'm going to try and keep this respectful.

The government in modern history seams to pretty much do what sounds good and looks like it might fix the problem and be popular (especially if it suits their party or the press) without much research or fact check or following the ends to the conclusion. (yet we through our apathy greed, & ignorance have allowed it) But this does blow all.

How do you expect to spend your way out of debt (in the first place much less by spending most of it on things that will only possibly have any benefit one time and so therefore must be repeated year after year to obtain the desired effect which would continue to plunge the buyer further into debt with more interest to be paid and nowhere to get the money from except for raising already oppressive taxes), and create more government to be paid for

And than with the banks and investment companies going bust left and right the government buys them out and pressures stable banks to make Horrible investment choices and what will happen when they go belly up??? What a great thought the government controlling all the banks, a congress that seems to do what their told, a court system that makes their own laws, WHAT NEXT Sad, What change.

As far as Planned Parenthood goes this organization does more to damage our future economy than any other single organization I know of, and I’m not talking about the usual moral reasons either, I’m referring to a study done by a Stanford grad. Economist (I wish I could remember his name) but basically he found that the market has a direct correlation to spending and spending has a direct correlation to population( ie. Every thing the baby boomers invested in sky rocketed from the Hula hoop to realastate after Vietnam) and the peak spending years of people is about 41 to 61 (ex. Harley sales peaked during this time and then taper off sharply. Midlife Crisis??? Big Grin) {Oh, just a note the Baby boomers born in 1946 just hit 61; look at the market. Coincidence? I think not.} And the “economically concerned government” pays for abortion?

WHEN WILL WE STOP BELLIVING WHAT THE MEDIA FEEDS US???
WHEN WILL WE GET INVOLVED AND MAKE A DIFFRENCE???
WHEN WILL WE LEARN[b]
?

This makes me really sad: that we would make this of the incredible gift our Forefathers, & fathers gave us, sweated, bled, suffered, died, and sacrificed for.

By the way averyone knew that we are not a democracy, or a republic by origin, Right? We are a Democratic Republic.

Isn't that ironical? The stimulus is unbelievably huge, as is evidenced by this handy graphic.

At least its popularity is going down. According to a recent Rasmussen Poll, 39% of all voters (liberals and all) oppose the stimulus. May that percentage increase as the truth is found.

I just HOPE I have some CHANGE when they are done.

I do Income Tax returns, many clients that I have done make less than 20,000, have 4 kids, have very little Fed tax withheld from thier paycheck ($150 to $300). They get a refund check for $5,000 to $6,000) So they pay NO INCOME TAX, and get some of your money. AND NOW THEY WANT MORE.

And they already have free medical to boot.

I tell other tax paying clients The IRS thinks its their money and they do want they want.

Put The and IRS together and its spells THEIRS hilarious

Joe the Plumber, Joe the Firefigher, Joe the Truck Driver, Joe the Police Officer does not have any more CHANGE to give and has lost HOPE.

It was nice to read yesterday that even some Senate Democrats think the bill is out of control. I am sure in the end, Obama will get most of what he wants but hopefully this will open some voters eyes and they will remember at the next eletion. It is criminal what they are doing with our money in the name of stimulus.

Amen!

If only Obama could grasp this truth...which really does not seem terribly complicated. Ah, well. The next four years will fly by. I hope.

You didn't hear,
Nancy Pelosi said that it would reduce cost, and you know that if she said that, then it must be true.
hilarious

Well,
All I can say is that whatever happens, we did this to ourselves. As far as "Change we can believe in", I just went and bought Surplus Ammo before it gets banned. I'm thinking about not reporting my extra income for tax purposes this year. We can do that now, it's cool with the new administration. Big Grin
