Clep American literature - cytam0513 - 02-02-2009 Does anyone know the best way to prepare American lit? I just only study idiot guide, do you think it is enough to pass the exam? Clep American literature - studyhard - 02-02-2009 Don't underestimate this exam. It's hard. Unless you're a bit of a literature buff, I don't think I'd count on the Idiot's Guide alone. Check out SparkNotes: Today's Most Popular Study Guides and read a bunch of book summaries. Also, if you send me a PM with your e-mail address, I'll send you my study notes for this test. The Idiots guide is good and will get you through half of the actual exam, but I recommend more. I just visited the CLEP site and, bare in mind im a bit of a literature buff, I got the first question right after googling what a rhyme scheme was, got the second poem interpretation question right, and then was stumped by the question asking who the author of the poem was. My best advice, if you're bad at analysis, study all the major poets, fiction writers and non-fiction writers and all their facts. The poem I read had a clue in it I was able to discern the author from after reading the Wikipedia page, but that's probably only a 1/3 rd of the test at most. |
