im really having a hard time getting back into the rhythm of things. i just barely passed my computer clep with a 52 and now im trying to get ready for the literature. i started reading but i keep looking at all the other classes that i have left and i get frustratedSad i know i should just concentrate on what i have to do now but im having trouble getting back into the habit. i guess im back in a slump.

I know the feeling. I took a long weekend break and I have been dragging my feet ever since. I'm studying for PreCalculus, which is killing me... so that's probably part of the problem. Tongue

My mom advised me to start studying for another test that is either easier or in a subject I enjoy more. I am still studying PreCalc, but also working on Principles of Supervision right now. It has helped some... I'm at least more motivated to study for something.

Anyway... I'm probably not one to give advice at this time. I'll take some from anyone who has it though! Smile

And good luck getting back into things.

I had the same problem recently. Someone on the board advised me to get study snacks, and just sit down a little at a time and work on it. Something that simple really did help me.

If you're taking the analyzing & interpreting literature test - what I used was the peterson's practice tests and the official clep practice exam (in the blue book). The one from clep was closer to what I actually saw than Peterson's but I felt more confident going into it after having taken some extra practice tests. I know a lot of people have complained about running out of time for that test - Peterson's was a good way for me to learn to gauge my time.

Hang in there!

Here's my standard advice:

I can totally relate to what you all are saying, because I felt that way at times too.

Here's what worked for me:

1. Mope to your IC buddies and ask for encouragement. Oh wait, you already did that. Smile Smile

2. Schedule your tests. Deadlines have a great way of giving us the extra kick we need.

3. Try to make studying fun. For me, that meant fixing a pot of hot tea in my favorite foofy teapot and drinking it out of an equally foofy teacup, rounding up some chocolate, and studying in the company of my three adorable pussy cats. I realize that might not be everyone else's idea of fun, but you get the idea. Get something yummy to sip or munch, get comfortable, and reward yourself at the end.

4. Don't dwell on how depressed you are and stop counting the tests and the days till it's over. It just makes it worse. Take it one day at a time and refuse to listen to discouraged thoughts.

Hang in there! We're all rooting for you!
