DSST Principles of Financial Accounting - CouchPotato - 05-11-2009 DSST Principles of Financial Accounting NOT DSST Principles of Finance I am planning on taking the DSST Principles of Financial Accounting after failing my first CLEP Financial Accounting  (by 1 stupid point) and was wondering if anyone knows how it compares? Is the DSST also 75 questions in 90 minutes? The time killed me on the CLEP, I actually had to answer 2 questions without even reading them to get under the 90 minutes. The last 10 questions I barely even had a chance to read. Anyone taking the CLEP needs to be prepared to answer those long problems in less than a minute. About 70% of mine consisted of solving problems. Anyway, I know most took the CLEP back when it was 6 credits but any info on the DSST version would be helpful... thanks DSST Principles of Financial Accounting - bkbarden - 05-11-2009 I'm sorry you failed the exam. But I find this slightly funny because I failed the DSST Financial Accounting and had to take the CLEP version. I was a few points short of passing the DSST version, with about two days of study. (Learned my lesson... not doing that for math based exams anymore). I don't remember a whole lot of the test... but I don't think it was as much equation and math based as CLEP. Also, I finished well within the allotted time, but I was really pushing the limit with CLEP. Someone else told me that DSST is a lot more idea and concept driven. Again, I don't remember too much (must have blocked the experience from my memory) but I think that held pretty true for my exam.So... don't know if that helped, but hopefully it did. Overall, I would say DSST was probably easier than CLEP, I just wasn't prepared for it. |
