Report CLEP tests or wait? - Rainydays12 - 06-07-2009

I am taking my first CLEP (humanities) hopefully this week. I was originally going to get my B.S. Psychology from SUNY Empire State but you guys have convinced me to take another look at Excelsior. I am once again excited to get this done quickly.

Since SUNY requires 32 credits for residency I have decided just to take a few classes I can't test out of or take at Excelsior. My question is: do I report the CLEP scores to SUNY to put on my transcript (I should be enrolled there this week) or just hang onto them and report them all at once to Excelsior?

I haven't applied yet to Excelsior to avoid the $900 charge and subsequent $400-ish charge if I don't finish in a year.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks-
Gina

I'd say to wait and report them when you enroll at EC, since EC will not accept them off your Empire State transcript and you will have to have them sent from collegeboard at that time anyways.

Even though my original B&M had accepted AP exams for credit, I still had to pay to have the transcript dug out of the CollegeBoard "WHAT year did you say?" archives and sent to EC for the credits. :p

If you have enrolled (or intend to enroll) at SUNY, go ahead and use their school code when you take the CLEP. It won't do any harm, and saves you $20 if you decide to stick with SUNY for the degree.
