Dsst Statistics: Try this link - kati02 - 06-13-2009 I came across this link while preparing material in anticipation of the DSST STAT. and thought i shd wait until i've proved it's worth before i cd share it here. I thought the content matched that of the DSST Fact sheet pretty well and liked all the profesorial guidance, and most of all it's FREE. Now am thinking i might as well share it though i have not proven it yet, just may be s'one can find it valuable.. sofia.fhda.edu click on gallery, click on elementary statistics Dsst Statistics: Try this link - categ - 06-13-2009 kati02 Wrote:I came across this link while preparing material in anticipation of the DSST STAT. and thought i shd wait until i've proved it's worth before i cd share it here. Dsst Statistics: Try this link - perrik - 06-14-2009 Nice find! FYI, the Physical Geography course is really a geology course, and the syllabus looks like an excellent study match for the DSST Physical Geology exam. I was planning to take classes this autumn in Flash and Dreamweaver (in preparation for grad school). Lo and behold, the Sofia Open Content includes courses on both. So that was a really nice find. Thanks for posting it, kati02! Dsst Statistics: Try this link - JanusthePhoenix - 06-14-2009 Added to my list of resources, thanks! Hopefully it will be helpful. Dsst Statistics: Try this link - kati02 - 06-14-2009 Am glad you like it, it sure looks good! Goodluck with it guys.. Dsst Statistics: Try this link - kokila13 - 08-18-2009 Hi all, I noticed that some of you suggested the sofia open content intiative website for practicing before taking DSST Statistics. However when I worked out the sums I found that many of them are worked out using the TI-83 calculators. But the DSST website only mentions the requirement of a non-programmable calc. So I was wondering if something like TI-83 really required to pass the test???? And If I only take a scientific calculator, will the information on table values of P, critical values etc be available during the test???? Someone please respond ASAP as my test is fast approaching!!!! This makes me feel a lot better. I have only studied from a couple of text books suggested by DSST Fact sheet, borrowed from the lirary, which cover almost all the syllabus. I have not gone through IC at all. I hope I will be able to make it with what I know! My test is tomorrow!!! Thanks Barcotta...that test is looming in my near future!
Dsst Statistics: Try this link - kokila13 - 08-29-2009 Hey, I took the test on Aug 19th and cleared it with a score of 484 out of 500. Since I had a fear before test test day regarding the difficulty level and the calculator type required, I thought this post would be useful for future test takers. I studied only from a couple of Statistics text books (Older editions of the ones suggested on DSST - GetCollegeCredit.com) borrowed from the library. But I studied really hard for a couple of weeks. The test pretty much covers what it says on the fact sheet in exactly the same percentage. You DONT need any fancy calculator. A basic scientific calc is helpful as u can save time on the SD and mean calculations. But if you are fast with those, u dont need even a scientific calc. The other important thing is, there is no need to break your head over the extremely complicated probability questions on the sofia.fhda.edu website. The probability questions on actual test day were soooooo simple! Of course there is no harm in preparing well by working out tougher questions before test day. But if you are like me who did not have a Hi-fi calc and did not know how to solve it otherwise...there is no need to fret! I found the test to be pretty straight-forward and downright simple if you know the basic concepts. What I found to be most helpful was, to have taken the practice exam on Welcome to COLLEGECREDIT.COM (2 tests for 5$). It really reflected the exact kind of questions that would come on actual test day as well as the difficulty level and I was able to brush up on those specific concepts and solutions and that really really helped! I hope this helps. All the best! |
