I just took the Ethics in America test today. The NEW one with 100 questions and an essay like thing at the end that I had NO idea what they really wanted from me. Oh yeah, and the new test has a 30% pass rate vice the 85% or so from the old test. Anyway, I managed to get a 436 on the test only studying the IC stuff, put in about 5 hours of study time over 2 days.

do you get your score back immediately - including a score of the essay portion?

Congrats. I'm taking it on Tuesday. It's my first DSST. Is it substantially different than a CLEP?

I know that there are 4 possible answers instead of 5 like a CLEP. Good Luck on it!

Wow! Great score for taking the new version of the DSST!

I got the score right away. I was logged into the prometric system and once I was done and ended the test it spit out the score. I don't know what the deal with the "essay" is, I started to type some stuff and then decided not to bother since I didn't need it for my school, and to be honest, I wasn't sure too confident that it was going to make a difference. I can't really say, I think the only CLEP I have done is "speech", so not a real good comparison.

Hey, does anyone know if the new ethics test is only optional, with the old one still being used at test centers who have not upgraded yet?

The Ethics exam is a difficult one, no matter if you take it DSST or ECE... I scored a B on this one with ECE, and this test took me the longest to sit and take. But, at least you passed it and can move on!
