Spanish CLEP - mmhickma - 06-26-2009 Has anyone taken the Spanish Clep test? I am planning on taking it soon and was wondering what it is like... anything you have to contribute would be great! Spanish CLEP - NAP - 06-26-2009 Welcome to the forum! I have not taken any foreign language CLEPs, yet. Be sure to get a copy of the Official CLEP Study Guide. That will give you a list of topics and sample questions for every exam. This will be the best gauge of when youâre ready to take an exam. Spanish CLEP - almondpecan - 06-26-2009 you can take some practice tests here MCPL: Education & Career i just did today and scored 93. i already speak the language so i suppose thats why i thought it was easy, but does anyone know if this petersons practice test is an accurate representation of the actual exam? Spanish CLEP - NAP - 06-26-2009 That's a great idea! Did the Peterson's have any listening sections? The test is supposed to be 40% listening. The test is supposed to be 40% listening.yes, 2/3 of the sections were listening, although they were shorter than the final section, so id say about 30-40% Spanish CLEP - NAP - 06-27-2009 Thanks AlmondPecan! That is good to know. I have also read on the forum that the sound quality on the actual CLEP test can be poor. That is something to be aware of so you are not surprised if it happens. Spanish CLEP - Kelsey - 06-30-2009 Just took this test about a month ago. I am not a native Spanish speaker, but took three years in highschool. Have been out of practice the past two years though! I passed, but only got the 6 credits. The sound quality was very poor and not being a native speaker, I was expecting it to be better. Felt I did very well on the grammar part, but the listening is what was bad for me! Watching videos in Spanish really helped me practice this. Spanish CLEP - gill18 - 06-30-2009 I've heard the Peterson's test are harder than the real CLEP, so if you get 60% right, you're doing well. Spanish CLEP - NAP - 07-01-2009 Thank you for sharing your experience Kelsey! I think poor sound quality would make this exam quite difficult for a non-native speaker. I know you were hoping for more, but congratulations on earning 6 credits! Spanish CLEP - GringoInTijuana - 07-02-2009 I took this CLEP about 5 years ago. I am not a native spanish speaker, but lived in Mexico for two years after high school . I scored a 100% and the testing center lady at my CC said that is the first time she has ever seen a 100% before. Unfortunately, my CC only awarded 8 credits for the test and I am happy that TESC awards 12. The test seemed really basic and easy for me. I think just getting over test anxiety will help you out a ton. Read each question carefully as they will throw in a couple of answers that seem to both be correct. |
