Any TESC graduates with no GPA?! - mongoose65 - 07-15-2009 I learned today that my easy road to completion of a Liberal Studies degree from TESC (3 CLEPS left) comes complete with NO GPA on my transcript!!! LOL! If I stay with EC, I need many more credits (18 UL) and would graduate with a 2.45 or so GPA (nothing to brag about). I really just want the degree. There is no way to make my college career (including the DL and test out portions) look better than it is. I'd prefer to be honest about how I earned my degree and hope that my resume, GRE or GMAT, references, essays, etc will do the talking to potential grad schools (probably as cheapo a RA MBA I can find). I realize there will be many views on this but any input is appreciated. As loose as I am about things, it just feels toooo weird to get a degree with NO GPA!! Has anyone else graduated TESC with no GPA and how has it impacted your further education or career? Oy vay, if it's not one thing, it's another!! Best to all, Mike Any TESC graduates with no GPA?! - Gary - 07-15-2009 Interesting. Maybe they'll give you a toaster as a parting gift? Any TESC graduates with no GPA?! - bkbarden - 07-15-2009 Well, I haven't graduated yet, but I do have my last test schedule on Friday and THEN I will be graduating with no GPA. I don't think it will affect my career... I had an interview a month or so ago and they asked about my degree and anticipated graduation, but there was no question about GPA! The one thing I'm concerned about is possibly going to grad school. I wasn't really planning on it when I started my degree, but now that I'm close to finishing, I may want to continue. However, I just found out that someone one these forums is going to grad school with no GPA! So... it doesn't seem like it would be that much of a hindrance. (At least, I sure hope not!) No one has ever asked what it was. <shrug> Any TESC graduates with no GPA?! - Ruddigore - 07-16-2009 cookderosa Wrote:My first degree, the one that made my career, was in a B&M school complete with a GPA. Any TESC graduates with no GPA?! - peace123 - 07-16-2009 Do you think a 3.2 is bad ? Any TESC graduates with no GPA?! - gregjohnson - 07-16-2009 My official TESC GPA was/is 4.0, thanks to my one Guided Study Managerial Communications class. The other 48 recent credits were all CLEP/DSST/TECEP exams. My approx 2.9 GPA from old B&M credits does not appear on my official transcript. My future daughter-in-law, who has tunnel vision while attending B&M only, is driven crazy by this. LOL! Hi Mike, Maybe I missed something, but how do you come up with a 2.45 GPA at EC taking the extra classes, but with no GPA at TESC? For a "Cheapo" Grad school, try TUIU and see if they'll take your non-GPA degree. That's the school I'm looking at enrolling in after I finish my BS. The B&M institutions I've attended also didn't recognize letter grades from other institutions, it only listed them as transfer credit... |
