How do ECE credits show up on transcripts? - argentnox - 07-28-2009 Can you tell that the credits were earned via testing, or is it just like course credits, with a grade and the credits listed out? The only difference in the way EC classes and EC exams are listed are that they add an X to the end of the subject abbreviation... The Excelsior classes I took are listed as: ENG*101 ENGLISH COMPOSITION GRADE B MAT*113 COLLEGE MATH GRADE A The Excelsior exams I took are listed as: BUSX*410 HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT GRADE A SOCX*305 CULTURAL DIVERSITY GRADE C ETC, ETC, ETC. Can you get a full letter grade? i.e. what would I need for an A, a 90%? Or is it just pass/fail? How do ECE credits show up on transcripts? - marianne202 - 07-29-2009 I've taken 3 ECE's and haven't yet figured out a set percentage. I believe they are graded on a curve based on the Beta scores similar the to the CLEP and DSST's. They will give you a section breakdown after the exam which shows your percentage correct in each content area of the exam. But I haven't found a pattern to how they come up with the grade. I have scored B's on all of mine even though according to the breakdown I have done over 70% in all areas on one exam and maybe have some mixed scores on others with some content areas being below 70%. They don't average out to what you would consider a straight B or 80% percentile. So some content areas must be weighted heavier than others. I will be taking probably at least 3 more ECE's. They are not too difficult, although they are longer, more intense and more involved than the CLEP and DSST exams. Good luck! How do ECE credits show up on transcripts? - argentnox - 07-30-2009 I may just stick to DSSTs, CLEPs, and classes, then. I am trying to make sure I keep my 4.0, and if a test ruined that for me, I would be devastated. I am already praying that I can maintain it through my chemistry course. That is why I am going to be taking chem during a semester that is not going to have much else going on. At the most, it will have one lower level bio class in conjunction with it. Something nice and easy. I will already have taken microbiology and my subject GRE 2 semesters prior, so any lower level bio class should be a cake walk at that point. I think as long as I concentrate on it and do not have as bad a chem teacher as I did in high school, I will do well, though. Chem just scares me because I was positively miserable at chem in high school. I was depressed and was terrified of my teacher, though, so that probably had quite a bit to do with it. I had a D and a F plus several b's and C's. I thought they were tough obviously, but everyone's experience is different. Good Luck. |
