Here's to your health and Substance Abuse - thetoyntons - 09-01-2009
I am takingmy first DSST exams tomorrow Here's to your Health and Substance Abuse. Is there any advice I need to know? Did anyone take them w/o studying? I have studied some but I think it will be pretty easy. At least I hope. I am need 30hrs of credit before March so I can graduate! Did instantcert work well for these exams?

Well I passed both exams at ease....Ive got to do 8 more before end of Sept....I think I can, I think I can....

InstantCert works great for these two exams! I took them on separate dates but only a couple weeks apart. The flashcards help you grasp key terms that are on the exam. If you already have a health background, then you should be good. I don't have a medical background, so alot of it was just a review of the key terms. For the Substance Abuse test, Peterson's has 3 sample tests you can take.

I used instantcert for both exams. I took substance abuse followed by here's to your health. Substance abuse is much more difficult to pass than here's to your health and required outside reference material. The two exams are synergistic and are a good choice to take together.

I would not take Substance Abuse cold. There's a lot more to this test than "crack is bad for you." The specific feedback helped a lot on this one. It's very doable, as long as you get one or two good days of study.

IC was sweet for substance abuse, especially when it came to brain structure and chemistry. I also had an extensive background in the subject, lots of firsthand "research" activities when I was in highschool. Erowid.org is also a great resource as well.

Peterson's is a brand name of CLEP/DSST practice exams available over the internet. They can be had for the low cost of FREE. Simply do a search for "free peterson's" and voila, you'll be in business. Good luck and happy clepping/dssting.
