Online Exam/testing For Distance Classes - hustlin_moe20 - 09-07-2009 Has anyone ever taken any classes at University of Phoenix online or any other school? My best friend is taking English Comp 1 and College Algebra there and he wants to know how they conduct their exams. Do you download them, then upload when you're done? Use some software that they provide? Conduct the test in your browser? How do they prevent you from using the wiki or google to research answers during the exams? Online Exam/testing For Distance Classes - ibhereforever - 09-08-2009 Any of the above methods can be used, usually the uploading as only a last resort. It really depends on the school. Many exams are also "proctored" which means he would have to go to the local library and have someone administer the test the school sent to the location. A lot of exams online are open book, and they encourage you to use materials. The catch is that open book exams are harder, and require more understanding of the material... all within a time limit. My two brothers are soldiers and want to take classes that way. Online Exam/testing For Distance Classes - ideafx - 09-08-2009 hustlin_moe20 Wrote:What would be the point of "distance learning" if you have to show up at some place to take a test? There are always test proctors on base if you're in the military. Online Exam/testing For Distance Classes - Helene66 - 09-08-2009 Hi. I am currently student a UOP and have taken classes on-campus and on-line. I did take the math class on-line. Lots of work but the final exams are open book. You definitely can not get behind otherwise you will always be behind the eight ball. Good luck. I've never seen a proctor hanging out in the dirt.hilarious Online Exam/testing For Distance Classes - jaer57 - 09-08-2009 hustlin_moe20 Wrote:Do they have test proctors in Iraq/Afghanistan? He did it once a week or so; he was attached to the G-6 at the time and didn't have to leave the wire so it was possible. I never saw any in Afghanistan while I was there, but there were so many troops that never left their respective FOB's that I wouldn't be surprised if there was some higher education going on. I definitely took the time to study when I got the chance, but other than reading I didn't get the chance to work on my degree back then... |
