DSST Astronomy must be rare - mmorgan - 10-16-2006 Hey, I'm thinking of doing Astronomy as an elective. Has anyone taken this, and or know a way I could study for it. I decided to maybe do this instead of Sociology if possible. It just seemed a little more interesting, ya know. But if I cant find a good way to study for it I might have to stick with ol' sociology. DSST Astronomy must be rare - dhlvrsn - 10-16-2006 I thought that this sounded interesting as well but after no joy looking for resources or finding anyone esle who had taken it... off my list. DSST Astronomy must be rare - mmorgan - 10-16-2006 Well, I guess it's nice to know at least someone else was interested. BTW, if I find out something you still interested or is it too late? Sociology is regarded one the, if not the, easiest exams out there. Good Luck! DSST Astronomy must be rare - mmorgan - 10-16-2006 Wow, I just found out there is another thread which is exactly the same. Sorry about that, I guess that makes three of us. DSST Astronomy must be rare - mmorgan - 10-16-2006 Yeah, I've heard a lot that sociology is one of the easier courses. I guess I just wanted to learn something that I've always kind of been interested in. To me, an elective is a chance to learn something that is interesting yet doesn't necessarily apply to my field. Astronomy doesn't really apply to a BA- Music Arts, (unless I wrote real technical songs about stars). But hey, who says learning can't be fun! DSST Astronomy must be rare - snazzlefrag - 10-16-2006 Hi Guys, I haven't taken DSST Astronomy myself, but here are a few web sites that might be helpful if you do decide to study for it: http://www.sparknotes.com/astronomy/index.html http://www.astronomy.com/asy/default.aspx?c=ps&id=6 http://www.cbu.edu/~jholmes/N111/intro.html http://www.phy6.org/stargaze/Sintro.htm#q2 Best of luck, Snazzlefrag DSST Astronomy must be rare - xn85turbo - 10-16-2006 mmorgan, I took Sociology at the beginning of the year. All you need is the instantcert practice test and the collegeboard official guide. This one was easy. I used instantcert before with little success on other exams but for Sociology it was dead on. Now for Astronomy, I have been looking high and low for study materials and practice tests (which is the format I like the best). I found this site http://college-cram.com/ which has stuff for this test as well as others. I have not used it yet but was thinking about doing this test next since I have taken all the CLEP I can (24 credits at UMUC) and now have been pounding DSST tests out (this will be my 4th in 5 weeks, "Here's to your Health"). It will be my last elective. I can test out of 60 credits so I am playing catch up. I will take Astronomy since its a required class for me and post what I find out about it and the study materials I am using. I figure I will take it in about 2 weeks since I am doing one a week until the holidays. Still doing 2 regular classes at school while working full time so my schedule is very full. DSST Astronomy must be rare - dhlvrsn - 10-17-2006 Great site. I love to have as many sources of info as possible. DSST Astronomy must be rare - CutNshootCamelRider - 10-17-2006 I took it years ago as a telecourse to try to get out of taking a math class. I made a C. It was really math intensive and very much based on memorization. This was way before IC. mmorgan Wrote:Hey, |
