Natural Science fulfillment / TESC - Rhashad - 10-30-2009 Which courses satisfy the natural science requirement of a Liberal Arts degree? Does math count? I've already taken intro to computers. I've never been strong or very interested in science so i'm looking for alternatives to the biology and nat. science clep. Any input would be appreciated. Natural Science fulfillment / TESC - Lindagerr - 10-30-2009 I am currently taking the Global Environmental course at TESC. It is a 6 credit upper level course, but there is not really much science. It is more environmental and ethical questions so far. I think Math might count as some of the credit, but I believe you need at least one science. Natural Science fulfillment / TESC - alleycat - 10-30-2009 Math does count and so does a computer class, but you do need one science class. Natural Science fulfillment / TESC - Rhashad - 10-30-2009 thanks guys. Natural Science fulfillment / TESC - rona58 - 10-31-2009 I was very relieved to find out that I could fill the requirement with DSST Environment: Race to save the Planet and DSST Intro to Computers. With those plus the 6 credits for the CLEP Math, I EASILY filled my science and math requirements for TESC and even end up with 3 extra credits for general ed. So TESC places DSST Enviro and Intro to Comps as the Natural Science general ed requirements? Wow, I had never heard of that. Seems to me those courses would be a lot easier than the 6 hours natural sciences CLEP. Natural Science fulfillment / TESC - Rhashad - 01-31-2010 Got an eval the other day and discovered a true "science" class wasn't necessary. I've satisfied math/natural science requirements for a business degree with algebra, college math, intro to comp. and pre-cal. Natural Science fulfillment / TESC - tester - 02-01-2010 I'm going for a degree in Lib Arts or Humanities. From what I read a true science course is not required - if it is, I am truly in touble. So far I have: 3 credits-Aleks Beginning Algebra 3 credits - Aleks Int. Algebra 3 credits-College Algebra 5 credits - Computer class Does anyone know for sure if I still need to do the science class? Thanks a lot. Natural Science fulfillment / TESC - cookderosa - 02-01-2010 tester Wrote:I'm going for a degree in Lib Arts or Humanities. Check the number you need (12 I think) and the excess 2 will be general education electives. You're good unless you decided to use one of your liberal arts areas in your major as science-only then would you need more science. Natural Science fulfillment / TESC - tester - 02-02-2010 Thanks Jennifer!! Whew - what a relief - I was starting to panic. I have to tell you it's not easy testing overseas - I have to schedule one month in advance!!! The wait is killing me, not to mention the frustration that comes with it. Thanks again. |
