Natural Science AND American Literature - Rhashad - 12-01-2009
Hey guys, i need your opinion. I'm scheduled to take the Am. Lit exam friday and wondered if it's possible to take the Nat. Science along with it?
I'm relatively prepared for Am Lit, but don't have much knowledge of Nat. Science, is this an exam that I can cram for over 2-3 days and pass?

Hey! I have not taken American Lit. CLEP, but have taken the Natural Sciences! This CLEP is not an easy one. I personally don't think that you could pass by just cramming a couple of days for it. I studied for 3-4 weeks for this test alone. Although, I was not very strong in Chemistry, Physics, etc. If you are really strong in these different sciences and feel that you know the majority of what's on the percentage breakdown, I say go for it. If you are not so strong, then I would suggest to wait! I have some earlier posts on my feedback from this test if you want it! Hope this helps some and good luck to you

Well, I'm REALLY glad I didn't try to take Natural Sciences cold. I studied more for that one than for any other test I've taken thus far -- about 8 weeks.

Unless you have an extensive science background, I would say wait. I've taken Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in the past four years but I'm still planning on studying for Natural Sciences a fair bit before trying my hand at passing.

Like the people above, I would strongly caution against only giving yourself a few days to cram on this.
I've been currently studying for the American Lit test myself, and will likely take that and the Humanities test on the same day here in the next two weeks.
I received one of the books I ordered from Amazon for my Natural Science review just a few minutes ago, and unless you have an incredible grasp of the hard sciences, I'd caution against attempting it willy-nilly. The material is pretty heavy.
That being said, personally, I'm going to be studying for both Bio & NS in tandem once I get past these next two tests because of the overlap in Bio between the two.

Nat. Sci. is not an easy test to take WITH study, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you are an amazing science person.
