from an email list

I just rec'd a phone call from college board. If you took General English Comp with essay from the period of 2/2007 - 9/2009 you may receive a call/letter from the scorers of the exam. It appears the computer, which scored the multiple choice portion of the exam, was using the wrong conversion chart. In my case, it meant my first attempt at this exam where I missed by 1 point was actually a PASS!! And, my second attempt which resulted in a 64, was actually a 63. CRAZY!!! This is a HUGE snaffu for college board and could effect many students.

Please do NOT go flooding the phone system. They are working their way through the students. If you score has changed they will contact you. My hope and prayer is that no one who passed by 1 or two points is going to be negatively impacted! They are also contacting your college directly, if you designated an institution to send scores to during the exam.

Damnit!!! First they intentionally design the SAT to keep minorities and low income earners out of the ivy league, now they're toying with everyone's CLEP scores.... Those shifty college board people...

Ugh, College Board just called me about my English Comp Exam. My score of 60 was reduced to a 59. So much for getting 60 or more on all my tests. At least it's the one test that EC won't take. So maybe I have the last laugh after all. Rolleyes

Has anyone else had his score revised?

I just posted about this in the thread I started earlier.

I still received a passing score, but this is going to set my graduation back six months since it took so long for College Board to send the score. Apparently, this is the reason why they were so slow in sending this particular score. Ridiculous.

Christmas came early for me, I just received notice that the Eng Comp w/essay CLEP that I had originally taken and failed by one point had been mis-scored. I have now received a passing grade for this exam. Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, and Happy Kwanzaa to all.

The mail just came in. I received a letter from ETS explaining that they had mis-scored my English Composition CLEP. To add to the ridiculous nature of all this, I took the test in March 2008, almost two years ago. What if I had already graduated? My original score was 65, but they informed me that it was now 64. Not that this change affects my transcript. However, if they send me a couple more letters docking my score 1 point, it will. My question: how in the world can you mis-score an essay? Question 2: how in the world can you notice this 2 years after the fact?

Question 3, of course is: has this happened to you?

Maybe I'm just the lucky guy. Or maybe somebody at ETS just wanted to make my day.
