Wow, it looks like you stumped us all with that one; I have to say that is a new one. I studied it some while over in the middle east on "vacation" with the military; tough language. Are you planning on taking it up as a second language? Have you made any more decisions on you second degree yet?

National University has a BA in Arabic Studies so should have what you are looking for: National University • Bachelor of Arts Arabic Studies

Hi, I have a language addiction. I pretty much have used every single course out there, for learning a foreign language. I have never used one to gain college credit though. Now, what type of Arabic are you seeking to learn? Is it Standard, Eastern, Egyptian, etc???? Keep in mind, that not every course offers the same Arabic, most only offer Standard. Which to me just is not right, as I could care less about learning Standard. However, you might want to. Just be sure to check which kind the course offers.

FSI: FSI Language Courses - Arabic (This site is also free, and one of the best out there-you can find Barron's FSI at Amazon and purchase it.)
Pimsleur (VERY VERY expensive, keep checking ebay for it for cheap.)
Michel Thomas: Welcome to Michel Thomas (This guy is AWESOME, brilliant genius. His programs are good.)
ok, now for what NOT to buy. Do not buy Rosetta Stone, it is over priced, and is not that great, and no it won't make you fluent. It is not worth the money, all of the above programs are by far better and more thorough.

Hi Guys,
Thank you for all the answers and great resources.
My dilemna is I already speak arabic, but I do not know how to read and write..(I also speak several other languages wich made it easy for me to accumulate many Lower and upper level credit through the ACTFL for my Bachelor Degree at Excelsior).
I'd love to find out If there is a course out there that only teaches reading and writing... Preferably low cost ..
As for Basket Weaver question; No I really didn't make up my mind on what to do next academically, I'm still debating that one.

This doesn't have anything to do with a college or credit but if u've ever heard of Language Learning with Rosetta Stone (u may've seen their commercials on tv) u can buy a package to help read, write, speak many different languages. that's where i got my spanish CDs and they make it very easy by using immersion techniques the same way native speakers of a language learn to read, write, and speak a language. it may or may not be what u want but it may be worth a look. I just looked and they have Arabic. hope u find what u need. take care.

oh and for someone who can already speak Arabic, it looks like u'd only need level one. Their site says....
