Help me find an easy 3 credit math course - RBOWMAN - 11-09-2006

After bombing in college math the good folks at T.E.S.C. have agreed to let me take a 3 credit math, pending their approval, of my choice. Iam thinking about

Dantes...not sure which math.. need simple!!
Penn Foster..but I can't get in touch with them
AND .. any place else that will let me get this done now!

They said that the other 3 credits I need in science could be astronomy from Dantes, but what resource for studying will do the job..any ideas? Or maybe someone knows of a better course for my science requirement. I have taken the race to save the planet, here's to your health and geology; so Iam open to suggestions. Six credits to go and Iam done, but hopefully not "TOASTED".
I need and am appreciative of your input.

Thanks,Ronhilarious

Call and ask to speak to Mary-Beth, she'll help you. You might have to call a few times before you get a hold of her, but once you do explain to her your looking to take one college level course.. I.E. Tech Math 1.

She might ask which degree program and semester the course is offered in. You can figure that out on there website before you call. by looking at there program outlines.

Don't get into whole what class will transfer etc. etc. because it just complicates the process. The Tech Math class is actually a 2 credit class - HOWEVER the current version was ACE reviewed as a 3 credit class and that's just how EC took it for me.

At $55.00 per credit hour, the PFC math class is a steal at $110.00 COMPLETE - all books, materials and a calculator INCLUDED!!!

Go to ACE's web site and there a list of course that will transfer to Excelsior with no problem.

GOOD LUCK!!

Just use this site, do a search on this forum for "Astronomy" and you will find some resources that Snazzlefrag posted, including Spark Notes. Venture over to Wikipedia and read up on galaxies.

Okay, I called Penn Foster, but so far I have not received a call back . Also, I'll followup on the astronomy study sites with hopes of getting it done in the next week or so. Thanks again to all who have offered hope for this science and math phobic!!

Math:confused:

I started the Penn Foster class, but I've only completed about ten pages. I've been working on Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing for 8 credits and find my brain is too fried to do much Math. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

If the magic Math fairy shows up for you, let me know where and how I can find her. I know this is a "dirty" word but I'm sure I have more than Math phobia, I have Discalculia.

Please do not respond to this statement or the Moderator will "kill" you!hilarious

Just wanted you to know I'm in the same sinking or is that stinking boat?

Since I am a moderator and I've been down your path before and taken the PFC math class I'll take my chances - Big Grin

Your boat is not sinking, you just need to put both oars in the water, start rowing, and keep moving forward. Take your time, get a tutor (I did) and focus ONLY ON MATH and you will succeed - GOOD LUCK!!
