I am taking my first CLEP exam this week, in English Comp. I have completed all of the flashcards and have the answers memorized. When I try the peterson's tests, I bomb! Any suggestions???

Don't forget - It is not just about knowing the answers to the flashcards. You need to read and understand the explanations, too.
I have not taken this exam, but a study guide I am using includes this exam, too.
It is a free ebook called "Peterson's CLEP Success", which has review/teaching material for the 5 general CLEP exams and multiple practice tests for each - English Composition, Humanities, College Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and History.

For the 2 exams I have used it for, I have found it helpful to read through this and go over the review questions, before I tried the Petersons online tests.

Are there really those horrid sentence reconstruction questions on the CLEP that are on the Peterson's?? (Start with: "Blah blah blah") I did fine on the practice test but I hated those things!!

Lol, I don't remember any "Blah blah blah's" on my English Comp exam, but there were some questions that required you to rearrange fragments into full sentences.

Hahaha, not funny... OK, maybe a little
Well, thankfully there weren't any that required me to start with a part of the sentence that seemed totally illogical Honestly, on some questions I didn't think the writing level of any of their options was very good. :\ I won't say much until I find out if I passed, though

The exam was harder than the practice questions. I barely passed with a 52. OMG!! Thanks for the study suggestions. They definitely made a difference.

I am getting ready to take my English Comp CLEP this March, and I found a resource through my library that has practice tests of 90 questions online for me to work through. I took two and passed with an 84, then studied some and retook them, and I got a 94!! They are on Prepare for Success with LearnATest's Exclusive Learning Method... has anybody used these? How accurate are they to tell me if I'm ready to take the test and if I will pass it? I'm getting nervous, even though I love to write and I think/hope I will do ok.
