Aleks next step? - ZsaZsa - 03-07-2010 I just finished Beginning Algebra (17 to 71% in 3 weeks) and am debating whether to try another Aleks. Just for fun (fun?) I took the assessment for Intermediate Algebra and scored 30%. Don't think I want to do that. Is there anything else there for a mathphobe that would be cost and aggrevation effective? The cost per credit can't be beat (except by Fema of course). At one point I was even dreaming about working problems during the last 3 weeks! Aleks next step? - alleycat - 03-07-2010 30% is pretty good for your first time out. I would do and just add it to your credits. You are right, you really can not get any cheaper then Aleks besides Fema credits. My son did three Aleks courses in less then a month and now has 9 math credits. Good Luck Aleks next step? - IrishJohn - 03-07-2010 Do it. You'll be glad that you did because Intermediate Algebra is very similar to Beginning and you could always use the 3 credits. I too scored around 30% when I first took Intermediate but got up to 70% within a month. Aleks next step? - Tasman - 03-07-2010 I agree with Irishjohn. Int Algebra is very similar to Beg Algebra. You might get through it even quicker. Best $20 you will spend Aleks next step? - ZsaZsa - 03-07-2010 Thanks to all of you for the encouragement. I may give it a try- after a week or so break from seeing equations in my sleep! |
