Statistics - categ - 03-12-2010 I think this is the one that's gonna take me down! I have been wrestling with it a couple of weeks now and it has not been pretty. Nothing is sticking...even 5 minutes after I go over it. I can't apply the concepts to the practical problems. What is wrong with me???? I think I have reached...Destination Burnout. I have to take the exam on Monday because it is a pre-req for my capstone Business class. that starts in 2 weeks. If I fail, my May graduation is down the drain. I have tried all the resources on the specific feedback and they are just not working for me. I don't know why I am having such trouble. My brain is mush. Fail or pass, it is my last exam. If I fail, I will have to take a Stats class this summer ![]() I am rambling so I can avoid going back to the dreaded, evil Stat books. Please pray.....i really need 'em this time. So much at stake!!! (tear) Statistics - akeefe3133 - 03-12-2010 I wish I had words of wisdom for you but I'm struggling with Aleks Statistics because I don't think there is any way that I can pass the exam! I hate this subject, I just don't get it and don't get the immportance of it. I'll be thinking good thoughts for you; I really hope that you pass! Statistics - categ - 03-12-2010 Thanks, I am really gonna need those good thoughts. You are right, it stinks! Statistics - ZsaZsa - 03-12-2010 Good luck-I just logged out after another assessment in Aleks statistics. Some nights nothing makes sense- and the probability that I will cheerfully throw my notes in the fire as soon as I hit 70% is a sure thing...not even variable! I'll pray you do better than that! ![]() Statistics - peace123 - 03-13-2010 Cate, Have you considered trying ALEKS to see how high you can score. If memory serves me correctly they have that free trial period (3 hours over a 48 hour period) which should be long enough for an assessment. Maybe what you have learned so far from your studies can get you a high assessment percentage and then maybe you could work your way up to the 70 % need for credit. Of course check with your school first to make sure they accept it. Even if your school does not accept ACE, perhaps using it for the free trial period would allow you time to print out examples of problems, which you could use in your studies for your exam. By the time I finished my aleks stats I had an entire binder of material printed out. peace123 Statistics - categ - 03-13-2010 Zsazsa, I am with you. I got about 8 books over the past 2 years in anticipation of this test. They are all going in the fire once I am through with this. Peace123, good idea, I will try that tomorrow. Thanks. Statistics - Sunshine - 03-14-2010 I don't have much to add to the good advice already posted here...just wanted to say good luck and I'll be pulling for you! ![]() Statistics - categ - 03-14-2010 Sunshine Wrote:I don't have much to add to the good advice already posted here...just wanted to say good luck and I'll be pulling for you! Today....you are my hero!!! I was just working on the practice exam and thinking I am not ready especially if it is twice as many questions. I almost cried when I read your post. You...have given me hope. Thank you! Statistics - hoagland - 03-14-2010 I took the DSST test in January...the curve is very forgiving. Even if you think you are going to fail, don't count on it or believe it until you finish the test. I scored a lot higher than I was expecting. Just take it one step at a time. I haven't done anything with ALEKS, though, so I can't help you there. You can do it!! `Dakota Statistics - Sunshine - 03-14-2010 categ Wrote:Today....you are my hero!!!
