Hi Looking for help for my degree - Pmccullough03 - 10-11-2010 I'm wondering what you've found out regarding your degree plan and how it's going. I'm new to this forum and looking into the NYS CPA track at Excelsior as well. Any info would be helpful!! Hi Looking for help for my degree - wb.john - 10-11-2010 Many AICPCU exams have been evaluated for credit by ACE. Although they have a focus on insurance, there might be some that are applicable towards fulfilling your degree requirements. These exams cost around $235 usually. AICPCU website Here are two that I saw that I thought might be useful: APA 91-Principles of Premium Auditing: Insurance Operations, Underwriting, Premium Audit Report, Law, Planning & Designing Premium Audits, Evaluating Accounting Systems, Insured's Operations/Employees, Automation APA 92-Premium Auditing Applications: Insurance Rates and Rate Regulation; Workers’ Compensation Insurance and Premium Determination; Workers’ Compensation – Construction Operations; Maritime Workers’ Compensation Insurance and Premium Determination; Commercial General Liability Insurance, Classification, and Audit Procedures; Business Auto Insurance and Premium Determination; Motor Carrier Insurance and Premium Determination; Garage Insurance and Premium Determination; Commercial Property/Inland Marine Insurance and Premium Determination; and Other Premium Auditor Roles There may be others you can use. Just look at the ACE recommendations guide found in the link I posted if you are interested. Hi Looking for help for my degree - Yenisei - 10-12-2010 Look at LSU Independent Study, Columbia College and Penn Foster for many of the accounting courses. There is a DSST for Business Law II and for Business Ethics. Also, look at Colorado-Pueblo for Ops Management. Hi Looking for help for my degree - sirjake - 10-12-2010 I'm taking Intermediate Accounting through Oakton. oakton.edu They have a bunch of courses for those wanting to fulfill requirements for the CPA. Hi Looking for help for my degree - burbuja0512 - 10-12-2010 Are you sure that you would need an actual class for your Information Literacy requirement? I'm at COSC and my Capstone will automatically fufill this. I just took DSST Business Ethics a few weeks ago and would recommend it. It was not that difficult, especially if you've been in the business world or have taken any other business courses. IC was the only thing I studied and passed with no problem.
