Should I wait or Just do it!!?? - Lindagerr - 04-21-2010 I have been on a steady course since January to finish my degree requirements in time for TESC's graduation deadline of July 1st. Everything has gone as planned until the past three weeks. I only need to finish 1 or 2 more FEMA and take 2 exams and I am done.:hurray: I was supposed to take the ECE Literacy Instruction in the Elementary school this Friday the 23rd, but I had to change it to Saturday the 24th. I have been so busy the last 2 1/2 weeks teaching I have hardly had time to study. I have had the chance that could get me a job. One of our sweetest teachers has paid the price, but it looks like she will be OK (She fell and broke her hip and will be out the rest of the school year). I get to really teach; make my own lesson plans and everything. This is a fantastic learning opportunity. I just spend so much time preparing for 4 different classes I have had very little time to study. I took the ECE practice exam (I can't believe they charge $65 for 2 exams you can only take once), before I started this teaching job and I got 48%. I have half days at school tomorrow and Friday, but I have to make at least a basic lesson plan for the next 2 weeks I am going away.banghead I leave Sunday to fly down to Myrtle Beach and help my mother. So if I don't take this exam this saturday the 24th I can't take it until May 8th. I have my last exam Natural Science planned for May 21st and I need to study for that too. I don't need anything else for my degree requirements, but I commited to taking ALEKS Intermediate Algebra and ALEKS (by the way which statistics is easiest)Statistics by June 15 so I can get them on my transcript. I need them to qualify to teach Math. :willynilly: I had everything planned finish my degree, take my Praxis in June or July, apply for Teacher Certification and find a job by September. This opportunity to teach is just to good to pass-up. So what this long post is asking is: Should I take the test this Saturday or wait 2 weeks and mess up my whole plan????? Any suggestions appreciated. Should I wait or Just do it!!?? - JBjunior - 04-21-2010 Crunch time for me as well. I am running up to the July 1st deadline and after the test I passed today, I only have one more exam. I would personally dig down deep and find the time to study and get it done. You made a schedule for a reason and I think you should stick with it. With that little tirade, I say go for it. Should I wait or Just do it!!?? - TMW2010 - 04-21-2010 Desperation is sometimes as powerful an inspirer as genius. The only difference I found was the way that the word problems were stated. Introduction had general type stuff, (and quite a few rather scary situations, stuff about 40% of the people dying in a country dying from a disease and such... ) Business had business related situations, and I guess you can figure out what the Stats for the Behavioral Sciences had for questions.. I went through Intro and SfBS, and got bored of trying to score 70% on the Business one in the initial assessment, and went off and got Trig out of the way. For teaching, I'd say go with Intro or SfBS... It just looks like it fits in better on the transcript than having all sorts of science courses and then having Business Statistics on there.. (Yeah, its minor & silly, I know... ) Should I wait or Just do it!!?? - marianne202 - 04-22-2010 Linda, If you truly feel you are ready, take it. It is too easy to keep putting things off. I did that and regretted it, because I would have been done a lot sooner. I wouldn't let the practice test score scare you off. I have taken several ECE's and I always do the practice exams if they have them. I don't think I have ever scored very well on them, but I always end up with a B on the exams. Just take both practice exams and really pay attention to the answers, both the correct and and incorrect answers as they give you a ton of information. Also you will see a lot of the same scenarios / questions on the real exam. Take a deep breath and take the plunge. You can do this! Good Luck! Should I wait or Just do it!!?? - Lindagerr - 04-22-2010 I studied hard tonight and got 83% on the 30 question practice exam in the exam guide. I will look over what I got wrong and take the other online practice exam tomprrow. I am feeling better about this. I will have to get up at 5:30 AM Saturday to make it to the test center by 7:30, but I am trying to look on the bright side. I will be done by noon and I can come home and pack. ![]() Should I wait or Just do it!!?? - Lindagerr - 04-24-2010 I am so excited I did my first Eclesior exam and I got an A!!
