GMAT / GRE Question - marianne202 - 04-27-2010 Ok, so I'm looking at grad school programs and some require GRE / GMAT scores to be submitted with application and some don't require it if you have an undergrad GPA over 3.0 and some don't want it at all. Can someone enlighten me on the process for taking a GRE or GMAT? What is the cost? What does it cover? How do you study for it? Where do you take it? I'm clueless about this exam and wondering how hard it would be to pass it, so I know if I should eliminate any school that requires it. I can do ok on exams I study for, but I'm not so sure I would do well on a "general studies" exam. Any and all info would be greatly appreciated. I'm a little put off by a school that requires it without any regard to GPA or previous school and work experience, but it may make the difference between being able to afford an in-state online program vs a higher priced out of state online school. Thanks in advance for any info! GMAT / GRE Question - MissCLEP - 04-27-2010 This link should answer most of your questions: Take the GRE | Homepage You might also do a google search for GRE and see what you find. I haven't been able to find much information on how to study for it. I heard that Princton Review has a good book for the math section, but aside from that I can't find much feedback. Advice anyone? GMAT / GRE Question - NAP - 04-27-2010 Hi! You can download a GRE practice test from the official site here: GRE General Test: Prepare for the Test I tried the GRE practice test a couple of years ago and found it to be similar in content (verbal and math questions) to SATs (old version), but had more questions in less time and an essay. I have recently learned that the computer-based GRE exam will adjust the questions to try to accurately measure your level of understanding on the math section (like ALEKS or a placement test?). Petersons has 3 online practice tests, an ebook, and other materials for the GRE and GMAT. My local community college offers an online course for the GRE as part of a national non-credit course program called Education to Go. I did really well with a thick Barron's prep book for SATs. Hopefully, there is something like that available for the GRE and GMAT. Let us know what you find to be the most helpful. |
