Charter Oak versus Excelsior (fastest and lowest cost to BLA and recommended route)

Get on the phone with all three F/A Dept.s see what you can work out....go amend your FAFSA to send your info to CSU-Pueblo and Charter Oak first....then give them a call...do it today, your running out of time if you want to make the fall semester.

ENMU is a great school, with an attractive price point...here is my one caution. Carefully selested I think you can find courses at CSU-Pueblo that can be completed very quickly...like 4-6 weeks max (I did Human resource management in three weekends). I think they know the consortium drill with COSC, have courses that are self paced and can be completed quickly, and their customer service is simply stellar. Call them up, talk to the financial aid dept. and see what you can work out.

Rebel, as usual you stepped up to the plate with some awesome advice. I think you might be off on the Saylor.org ethics course, though. From Saylor: "BUS205: Business Law & Ethics would serve as a free elective & does not meet any Gen Ed Requirements. It could be coupled with another course that also has an ethics component to meet the Charter Oak ethics requirement." Just giving you a heads up. I just started my cornerstone class at COSC. My advisor has been great about the testing. She offered COSC classes to fill the gaps, but when I told her due to time and money constraints (not to mention the fact that I have to pay out of state tuition) that I prefer CLEP, DSST, or ECE, she came up with a combination I had not even thought of that will work very well. They are very pro-testing.

Well, looks like I was WRONG. I received this note back from the advising office at COSC:

" Apparently it does not meet our ethics requirement. If it’s just a matter of meeting the general education requirement (and it wouldn’t be met through a concentration course like Ethics in Public Safety for PSA or Heath Care Ethics in HCS) then she may want to consider the DSST Ethics in America exam. Hope that helps."

This is something of a reversal as I was allowed to use "Nursing ethics" to meet the requirement. Disappointing, but there it is. Good catch Tedium.

Yeah, I'm sorry, man. That sucks. I remember reading that when Saylor first came out with it and thinking that it was odd on COSC's part not to let it count toward your ethics requirement.

I don't think it's a reversal, I think the advisor just meant that if her concentration didn't already have its own ethics course she could take the DSST. Not that she couldn't take Ethics in Public Safety, etc. They are just hating on this one Saylor course for some reason. Does that seem right? Or are we thinking about two different things?
