What does psych BA look like?
#1
Hi.  Will the degree look any different than the BALS?  One person at TESU said they both say BA liberal studies.  Thanks

For TESU? My diploma says "Bachelor of Arts" (TESU doesn't put the major on their diplomas) but my transcript indicates the area of study as Psychology, no "Liberal Arts" on there.

If it's like my BACS, the diploma simply says "Bachelor of Arts" but the transcript states:

Degree Awarded: Bachelor of Arts
Area of Study: Computer Science
NanoDegree: Intro to Self-Driving Cars (2019)
Coursera: Stanford Machine Learning (2019)
TESU: BA in Comp Sci (2016)
TECEP:Env Ethics (2015); TESU PLA:Software Eng, Computer Arch, C++, Advanced C++, Data Struct (2015); TESU Courses:Capstone, Database Mngmnt Sys, Op Sys, Artificial Intel, Discrete Math, Intro to Portfolio Dev, Intro PLA (2014-16); DSST:Anthro, Pers Fin, Astronomy (2014); CLEP:Intro to Soc (2014); Saylor.org:Intro to Computers (2014); CC: 69 units (1980-88)

Thanks JSD.  I really wish they put the major.

Their diploma looks really boring, bland & empty. I really wish they'd change it to look more sophisticated & classic & not to even list a major makes it even worse, I mean if you're graduating ivy league or other top 10 schools then not listing major doesn't sound nearly as bad because you've more than likely already have something set up for work or are using a strong alumni network to find a job but if you're graduating from an adult-focused institution where students are usually trying to find jobs or improve job prospects then making sure a major is on the diploma would be in the best interests of its graduates. Anyway, I got a bit bored & made a sample of what I wish TESU's diploma for BA grads looked like.

Oh, I hate that it will just say "Bachelor of Arts". So nobody will know if my major was Computer Science versus Basket Weaving.

I mean, if a person were to hang it in their office. I wouldn't hang a generic degree like that for most fields...

Haha Big Grin . I would also like the name of the program.

@jsd so technically you have a 4.0 GPA!? If you only do the capstone can you list 4.0 GPA?

Exactly why I'm doing the BALS. The degree should reflect the rigor/focus. At age 50, no one's going to want to see my transcript. If I need knowledge to prep for a Masters: YouTube , books and cheap/free online classes can get me up to speed (without all the transfer/cost/acceptance complexities).
