TESU Masters in "Liberal Studies"
#1
Has anyone here completed this degree ?  If so was it worth it? Why did you complete it specifically?

If not this particular masters program, do we have anyone on these forums who has completed ANY graduate degree from TESU?

Can you please provide details of your experience overall.

thank you so much

I've been on this forum for about 7 years, and I've never seen anyone complete a MA degree at TESU. It is WAY too expensive.

There are a lot of cheaper masters degree programs we talk about on this forum. No one does their masters at the Big 3.

ESPECIALLY in Liberal Studies. What would be the point? People get bachelor's in liberal studies so they can get a masters in something targeted - having a generalist degree at the graduate level might be ok, but TESU doesn't even have professors. If you want a generalist degree, do Harvard's program. It's much cheaper, especially if you start this summer and get in on their English / poetry courses that are currently on sale. You can literally do a full English Master's through Harvard University's extension campus for about $17k and best part- you just sign up and do it. It's not competitive admissions.

Harvard university extension campus lists average cost for a masters degree as $32k... it also doesnt appear to be totally online and there IS an application process...

She was talking about a specific masters program that has been talked about on here before, fairly recently.  Not the "average" masters, but one that has a special program going on right now, with some courses as low as $200.

Currently you can take FIVE courses for $1000 in the English master's program ($200x5) compared to their rack rate ($2700 x 5). If you don't do English, it's full price.

I also didn't say there wasn't an application process- I said it's not competitive admissions. You DO simply sign up and do it. If you can do the work, you're in.

EDIT: since we comparing, TESU's graduate rate is $668/credit for 36 credits (12 courses) = roughly $24k and, well, it's not Harvard.

What specific update are you looking for in regards to that Masters?
Have you checked the requirements for the degree?

I wasn’t very clear on that post, my apologies. I was suprised that many felt a Master’s degree from TESU was  not a good option. The MPSL looked very interesting and TESU seems quite plugged into the local and state government scene - making me think it was a decent option. It doesn’t seem like many ( anyone ) have pursued a Master’s from TESU and was curious if the general opinions are still the same.
