For Study.com, there are 2 different types of courses: 1) one that has quizzes which count for ⅔ of the course and the final proctored exam which counts for ⅓; and 2) one that has quizzes which count for ⅓ of the course, assignment(s) that count for ⅓, and the final proctored exam which counts for ⅓.

The first one is actually backward: the quizzes count for 1/3 (100 points) and the exam counts for 2/3 (200 points). For this kind of course, if you get 100% on all of the quizzes then you need 56% on the final exam to get the minimum 210 points for a pass.

Study.com English 204 is pretty much like the Liberal Arts Capstone at TESU.  Looks like a lot of work LOL.

yep. and that's just one of the assignments. And then I wondered about how long would it take and what tricks are needed to not keep paying college accelerator fee each month.  too late at night and my head was spinning by then.

definitely better ways to get Eng comp 1 and 2 credits for TESU.  glad the OP has one of those.

Also use your TESU PrepSTEP account for free practice CLEP and DSST tests: https://my.tesu.edu/Pages/LearnExp.aspx

I was told by a competent-sounding advisor at TESU that a large part of the issue is they have very limited staff working in-office in the registrar's office, and it is taking extra time. However, the last CLEP I did (the one with the snafu with online proctoring), the turnaround seemed considerably faster, maybe a week. So perhaps it is getting better, or they have switched to electronic delivery.

Also, FWIW, my take on the essay is that it was no big deal. I was stressed about it beforehand, but did some quick reading and got some tips on preparing. I am pretty fluent with writing, but went through high school at a time where they were not stressing formal essay writing and organizing skills (the 'relevance in education' era of the 1970s). So using outlines and so forth is not something I'm used to doing.

For this essay, it was really pretty simple, the topic was easy to understand, and I banged it out and had time to check and clean it up and still had a few minutes to spare. No bibliography/reference section needed, because they give you the source(s). My final score was 72 or 74. So unless you are as much of a writing phobe as I am a math phobe, or have real difficulties with spelling and grammar, I would say the essay is not something to be too concerned about. Certainly easier than any essay you'll do in a typical college class.

I'd love to hear about that class.  Not anything that would violate academic integrity, of course, but things like number of assignments, expected word-count on each, etc.   I'm considering it myself.    I'm working on ASU ENG 101 but it's a ton of work and I've considered switching to something else for ENG 102.

As an average every course consists of 5-6 modules and each modules contains 5-6 units that require minimum 100 or in some units 300-500 words. Hence, a lot of writing work. Objective based tests are relatively easy.

Without actually having completed it myself, it appears that you only do one or two actual essays at ONU. It's broken down into different bits, though, to make up a number of assignments. For instance, write the thesis statement. Now come up with a list of references. Eventually, you put it all together into one assignment.

Whoops - you're right.  I changed my wording around when editing, and got them messed up.
